Lunæ, 12 die Martii, 1676.

Privilege.

A COMPLAINT being made, of a Breach of Privilege committed against Sir Richard Ford, a Member of this House, by arresting and taking John Ford, Bailiff and Servant to the said Sir Richard Ford, in Execution, and imprisoning of him in the Marshalsea, by John Hawkins, at the Suit of * Peake, during the Sitting, and in Breach of the Privilege of this House, knowing him to be Sir Richard Ford's Servant;

Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue his Warrant for Discharge of John Ford, Servant of Sir Richard Ford, from his Imprisonment in the Marshalsea; being taken in Execution, in Contempt, and Breach of the Privilege of this House.

Resolved, &c. That Mr. Speaker do issue forth his Warrant to the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, to apprehend, and take into his Custody, John Hawkins, (by whom the said John Ford, was arrested) for his Contempt, and Breach of the Privilege of this House.

Augmentig Vicarages, &c.

A Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for confirming and perpetuating Augmentations, made by Ecclesiastical Persons, to small Vicarages and Curacies, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time.

Awbrey's Estate.

A Bill to enable Mr. Awbrey's Trustees to sell Lands, was read a Second time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to Mr. Crowch, Mr. Marvell, Mr. Williams, Mr. Mallett, Sir Lanc. Lake, Sir Fran. Russell, Sir John Trevor, Sir Wm. Smith, Mr. Finch, Sir Chr. Musgrave, Sir Tho. Allen, Sir Tho. Meres, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Robert Southwell, Colonel Byrch, Sir Robert Dillington, Sir Edward Hungerford, Sir Geo. Hungerford, Sir Tho. Williams, Sir Tho. Prise, Mr. Graham, Sir Hump. Hooke, Mr. Westphaling, Mr. Eyres, Sir Trevor Williams, Sir John Mallett, Mr. Russell, Mr. Robinson, Sir John Elwayes, Sir James Smith, Sir Antho. Irby, Sir John Knight, Mr. Sawyer, Sir Edward Masters, Mr. Robert Wright, Sir Cyrill Wyche, Mr. Secretary Williamson, Sir Edward Norris, Sir Geo. Fletcher, Sir Edward Harlow, Sir John Barnaby, Mr. Morgan, Sir Hump. Cornwall, and all the Members of this House, that serve for the several Counties of Worcester, Hereford, and Salop, and for the several Cities, Towns, and Boroughs of the same Counties: And they are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And are impowered to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

David's, &c. Nat.

Sir John Trevor reports from the Committee to which the Bill for Naturalization of Jacob David and others was committed, some Amendments to be made to the Bill, by leaving out some of the Persons therein inserted; and other Additions, Amendments, and Alterations: And further reports, That, since the said Amendments agreed at the Committee, Cornelius Van Aldenwenelt, one of the Persons agreed to be struck out, had this Morning brought in his Certificate, and Witnesses to attest it, of his having received the Sacrament Yesterday: Which Certificate being produced; and allowed by the House;

The Question being put, That the Name of Cornelius Van Aldenwenelt do stand in the Bill;

It was resolved in the Affirmative.

And all the other Amendments, except this, being twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed to;

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Southwarke Court of Conscience.

A Bill for erecting a Court of Conscience in Southwarke, and the Parishes in Surrey and Middlesex within the Weekly Bills of Mortality, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time.

Bewdley Return amended.

The Clerk of the Crown's Deputy attending; and being called into the House; and bringing up the Return for the Borough of Bewdley to the Table, did there, according to the Order of the House, amend the same, by razing out the Name of Mr. Foley, and inserting the Name of Mr. Herbert.

Hawkers, Pedlars, &c.

A Bill to prevent and suppress Pedlars, Hawkers, and Petty Chapmen, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time.

Brewers' Petition.

A Petition of divers Brewers of London and Westminster, on Behalf of themselves and others, was read.

Resolved, &c. That the Consideration of this Petition be referred to the Committee of the whole House that consider of the Motion for a further Supply to His Majesty.

Supply.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Motion for a farther Supply to His Majesty.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Richard Temple took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Bills sent from Lords.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir William Beversham and Sir Edward Low;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to acquaint you, That they have agreed to the Bill for naturalizing Alice Rushout, Daughter of Sir James Rushout Baronet, without any Alterations: And have sent you down Two Bills; the one intituled, An Act for confirming an Agreement concerning the Execution and Return of Writs within the Seven Hundreds of Cirencester, in the County of Glocester; the other intituled, An Act to enable the Sale of certain Lands in Winterborne Whitechurch in the County of Dorsett, lately belonging to Lawrence Squibb Esquire: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Supply.

The House then again resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Motion for a farther Supply to His Majesty.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Richard Temple reports from the Committee of the whole House to consider of the Motion for a further Supply to his Majesty, That the Committee had taken the same into their Consideration; and had agreed upon a Resolve: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was again read; and was, upon the Question, agreed.

Resolved, &c. That, for a further Supply to His Majesty, the additional Duty of Excise be continued for Three Years.

Committees.

Ordered, That all Committees, which were to sit this Afternoon, be adjourned.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
