Brend's Estate.

A BILL to enable Francis Brend to sell Lands, for raising Portions for the Daughters of Thomas Brend, his elder Brother, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time.

Bermudas Company.

Ordered, That Sir Robert Southwell and Sir Richard Franklyn be added to the Committee to which the Matter touching the Bermudas Company stands referred: And that all the Members of this House, that shall come, are to have Voices.

Irish Cattle.

Ordered, That all the Members of this House, that serve for the Counties of Yorke, Cornwall, and Wilts, and for the several Cities and Boroughs of the same Counties, be added to the Committee, to which the Matter of the Petition, about Importation of Irish Cattle, is referred.

Yarmouth Pier.

Ordered, That the Bill for repairing and maintaining Yarmouth Pier be read on Monday next, after Ten of the Clock in the Morning.

Merchant's Estate.

A Bill for Payment of the Debts, and Settling the Estate, of Henry Merchant, a Lunatick, was read.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be read a Second time.

Berwick Election.

A Petition of John Rushworth Esquire was read; complaining of an undue Return of the Lord Dumblaine, to serve as Burgess for the Town of Berwick upon Tweed, in Wrong of the Petitioner, who was duly elected by the Majority of Voices, and ought to have been returned.

Resolved, &c. That this Petition be referred to the Consideration of the Committee of Privileges and Elections; to examine the Matter of the Petition; and report the State of the Case, with their Opinions therein, to the House.

British Subjects in French Service.

The Question being propounded, That those Persons, that have either compelled, advised, assisted, or encouraged, the raising, levying, carrying, or sending any of his Majesty's Subjects into the military Service of the French King, since his Majesty's Proclamation of the Nineteenth of May 1675, issued upon an Address made by this House, prohibiting the repairing of his Majesty's Subjects into the Service of the French King; are and shall be esteemed Enemies to the Peace and Safety of the King and Kingdom.

A Motion being made, that the Words "and contrary to" be added to the said Question, between the Words "since" and "his;"

The Question being put, That the Words "and contrary to" be added to the said Question, between the Words "since" and "his;"

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, &c. A Petition of Mr. John Harrington, was read.

Ordered, That Mr. Harrington and Mr. Murray, do attend To-morrow Morning at the Bar of this House: And Mr. Speaker is desired to take care, that they may be brought accordingly.

Resolved, &c. That the further Consideration of the said Petition, and the Debate thereupon, be adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Ten of the Clock.

Newarke Election.

Ordered, That the Case concerning Newarke be heard on Wednesday Morning next, at the Bar of this House.

Writ for burning Heretics.

Sir Thomas Meres delivered in a Bill for taking away the Writ, De hæretico comburendo; according to the Order of the House.

Ordered, That the said Bill for taking away the Writ De hæretico comburendo, be read To-morrow Morning, after Nine of the Clock.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Eight of the Clock.
