SIR Thomas Armstrong this Day took the Oaths of Allegiance and Supremacy at the Clerk's Table, in order to his Naturalization.

Simony.

Mr. Serjeant Maynard reports from the Committee to which the Bill concerning Simoniacal Contracts, was committed, some Amendments agreed to be made to the Bill: Which he read in his Place, and afterwards, delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were again twice read; and, with some Amendments made at the Table, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Awbrey's Estate.

Mr. Wright reports from the Committee to which the Bill to enable Herbert Awbrey, and his Trustees, to sell Lands for Payment of his Debts, one Amendment agreed to be made to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same was again twice read; and, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendment agreed to, be ingrossed.

Standish's Estate.

A Bill to enable Trustees to sell Lands for Payment of the Debts, and raising a Portion for the younger Daughter, of Mr. Standish, was read a Second time.

Resolved, &c. That this Bill be committed to Sir Roger Bradshaw, Lord Ancram, Sir Wm. Lowther, Sir Tho. Woodcock, Mr. Clarke, Sir Trevor Williams, Sir John Knight, Sir Wm. Wheeler, Sir John Berkenhead, Sir Fran. Clarke, Mr. Morris, Mr. Williams, Sir Edward Masters, Sir Tho. Lee, Captain Sherrard, Mr. Mallett, Sir Antho. Irby, Sir Fran. Rolls, Col. Mr. Solicitor General delivered in a Bill, according to the Order of the House, for Continuance of the additional Excise: Which was read.

Alliance with Confederates.

The House then proceeded upon the Debate of the Motion for a further Address to his Majesty, to enter into a speedy and strict Alliance with the Confederates.

Resolved, &c. That a further Address be made to his Majesty; giving him an Assurance, That if, in pursuance of the Address presented to his Majesty from both Houses, his Majesty shall find himself necessitated to enter into a War, this House will fully aid his Majesty from time to time, and assist him in that War: And it is referred to Mr. Powle, Mr. Harbord, Sir Geo. Downing, Sir Wm. Coventrey, Sir Nico. Carew, Sir John Hanmer, Mr. Sawyer, Sir Edward Deering, Mr. Vaughan, Sir Hen. Capell, Mr. Williams, Sir Tho. Meres, Sir Tho. Lee, Colonel Byrch, Sir Tho. Littleton, Lord O Brian, Sir Eliab Harvey, Sir John Ernle, Mr. Secretary Williamson, Mr. Garwy, Sir Tho. Clergis, Sir John Trevor, or any Five of them, to prepare and draw up the said Address: And they are to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down Four Bills; one intituled, An Act for the better Payment of Church Rates, small Tythes, and other Church Duties, and for the better Passing of Church Wardens Accompts; another intituled, An Act for Preservation of the Fishing in several Rivers of this Kingdom; another intituled, An Act to enable Sir Edward Hungerford, Knight of the Bath, to make Leases for Years, of Hungerford House in the Strand, in the Parish of St. Martin's in the Fields, in the County of Middlesex, and of certain Houses and Tenements thereunto adjoining; and the other intituled, An explanatory and supplemental Act for the better enabling Sir Francis Compton to make Sale and dispose of the Manor of Hamerton, or any Part thereof in the County of Huntington: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.
