Privilege of a Member in a Suit.

INFORMATION being given to the House, and a Letter being produced from Sir Francis Wenman, a Member of this House, who now lies sick at his House in the Country, of a Breach of Privilege committed against him, by delivering several Declarations in Ejectment, to evict him from his Estate, during this present Session of Parliament, by Richard Jones and Jenkin Wynne, Attorneys at Law;

Resolved, &c. That Sir Francis Wenman shall have his Privilege of Parliament allowed him: And that all Proceedings upon the said Ejectments be stayed, during this Session, and Privilege of Parliament.

Resolved, &c. That the said Richard Jones and Jenkyn Wynne be summoned to attend this House, to answer their Breach of Privilege committed against Sir Francis Wenman, a Member of this House.

Berkely's Estate.

Sir Henry Ford reports from the Committee to which the Bill for enabling Trustees to sell Lands for Payment of the Debts of Thomas Berkely Esquire, was committed, That the Committee had summoned and heard all Parties, and examined the several Particulars to them referred; and had returned the Bill, with some Amendments: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same being again twice read, were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments agreed to, be ingrossed.

Children of English Subjects Nat.

Sir John Trevor reports from the Committee to which the Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for naturalizing Children of his Majesty's English Subjects, born in Foreign Countries during the late Troubles, was committed, some Amendments to be made, and a Proviso to be added to the Bill: Which were twice read; and the Bill, with the Amendments and Proviso, read the Third time.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments and Proviso, do pass: And that the Bill be returned to the Lords: And Sir Gilbert Gerard is to carry it up.

Petition from St. Martin's in the Fields.

A Petition of the Inhabitants of St. Martin's in the Fields, in the City and Liberty of Westminster, was read.

Resolved, &c. That a Committee be appointed to examine the Matter of the Petition; and to summon the Inhabitants of St. Martin's, and other Persons concerned; and report the State of the Matter, with their Opinions therein, to the House: And it is referred, to Sir Tho. Clergis, Sir John Knight, Colonel Byrch, Sir Robert Carr, Sir Tho. Littleton, Sir John Trevor, Sir Jos. Tredenham, Mr. Sawyer, Mr. Ashburnham, Lord Cavendish, Sir Hum. Wynch, Sir Cyril Wych, Sir John Bennett, Mr. Hyde, Mr. Solicitor General, Mr. Collingwood, Colonel Titus, Mr. Boscowen, Mr. Wright, Sir Anth. Irby, Sir Gilbert Gerard, Sir Cha. Harbord, Mr. Crowch, Mr. Williams, Sir Courtney Poole, Sir Cha. Wheeler, Sir Edm. Windham, Sir Adam Browne, Sir Tho. Meres, Lord Clifford, Mr. Waller, Sir Fulke Lucy, Mr. May, Mr. Progers, Sir Winston Churchill, Mr. Howard, Sir Trevor Williams, Captain Jones, Sir John Barnaby, Sir William Doyley; and all that serve for the City of Westminster, and County of Middlesex: And they are to meet this Afternoon, at Two of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber: And are impowered to send for Persons, Papers, and Records.

Fire-in Southwarke.

Sir Thomas Clergis reports from the Committee to whom the Bill for erecting a Judicature in Southwarke, was committed, several Amendments, agreed by the Committee to be made, and a Proviso to be added to the Bill: Which he read in his Place; and afterwards delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table: Where the same were again twice read: And the several Amendments (saving that for the constituting the Persons for the Judicature) were, upon the Question, severally agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That the Knights that serve for the County of Surrey have Leave to present Names, to be joined to those already named for the Judicature.

And a List of Names being accordingly presented; and twice read; was, upon the Question, agreed to.

Resolved, &c. That one of the Lords the Judges be always of the Quorum in the said Judicature: And that the Bill be so amended.

The Question being put, That the Proviso be added, and made Part of the Bill;

It passed in the Negative.

Resolved, &c. That the Bill, with the Amendments before mentioned, be ingrossed.

Private Bills.

Ordered, That the House will sit on Monday next, in the Afternoon, for the Dispatch of such private Bills as are now depending.

Committee of Elections.

Ordered, That the Reports from the Committee of Elections and Privileges, be heard on Monday Morning next, at Nine of the Clock.

Samine's, &c. Estate.

A Message from the Lords, by Sir William Beversham and Sir John Francklyn;

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill, intituled, An Act to enable Trustees to sell Lands, for the raising of Money to pay the Debts of John Samine Esquire, Sir Roger Cooper Knight, and Cecill Cooper Esquire, deceased; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Popish Recusants.

Another Message from the Lords, by the Lord Chief Justice Rainsford and Lord Chief Justice North:

Mr. Speaker, The Lords have sent you down a Bill, intituled, An Act for the more effectual Conviction and Prosecution of Popish Recusants; to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Supply Bill; building Ships.

The House then resolved into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed upon the Bill for his Majesty's Supply.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir John Trevor took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir John Trevor reports from the said Committee of the whole House, That the Committee had made a considerable Progress in the said Bill; and hoped to finish the same at their next Sitting: And humbly moved, from the said Committee, That the House would resolve again into a Committee of the whole House on Tuesday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, further to proceed upon the said Bill.

Resolved, &c. That this House will, on Tuesday Morning next, at Ten of the Clock, resolve into a Committee of the whole House, to proceed upon the Bill for his Majesty's Supply for Building of Ships.

And then the House adjourned till Monday Morning next, at Eight of the Clock.
