Kelshall Charities.
SIR John Pettus reports from the Committee to whom
the Bill, sent from the Lords, intituled, An Act for
Settling of certain Lands and Tenements to charitable
and publick Uses, for the Benefit of the Parish of Kelshall
in the County of Suffolke, was committed, That the
Committee had perused the Bill, and saw no Cause to
make any Alteration therein; but had returned the
same, without Amendment.
The House being informed, That the Committee had
not sent out Summons to the Country, to appear before
them;
Ordered, That the Bill be re-committed to the former
Committee: And they are to meet this Afternoon, in the
Place formerly appointed: And they are to send out
Summons; and hear the Persons concerned therein.
Berks Writ.
Ordered, That Mr. Speaker do issue out his Warrant
to the Clerk of the Crown, to make out a new Writ for
the Electing of a Knight of the Shire to serve in this
present Parliament for the County of Berks, in the
room of Sir Rich. Powle, deceased.
Keels, &c. carrying Coals.
The Members appointed did then attend the Conference with the Lords, upon the Amendments made by
the Lords, to the Bill for admeasuring Keels and Boats
carrying Coals.
And being returned;
Sir Geo. Downing acquaints the House, That the
Members had attended the Conference; and delivered
the Reasons; and left the Bill and Amendments with the
Lords.
Lords agree to Amendments to Bills.
A Message from the Lords, by Sir Edward Low and
Sir John Hoskins;
Conference on Method of passing Bills.
Mr. Speaker, The Lords have commanded us to acquaint you, That they have agreed to the Amendments
made by this House to the Bill for burying in Woollen:
And have likewise agreed to the Amendments made to
the Bill for continuing the Act concerning preventing
unnecessary Suits and Delays; and the Act concerning
Intestates Estates: And to desire a present Conference
with this House, in the Painted Chamber, about the
Method of passing Bills between the Two Houses.
And the Messengers being withdrawn;
Resolved, &c. That this House doth agree to meet
the Lords at a present Conference, in the Painted
Chamber, as desired.
And the Messengers being called in; Mr. Speaker
acquaints them, That this House had agreed to meet
the Lords at a Conference.
Ordered, That the Members, that did attend, and
manage the last Conference, do attend, and manage this
Conference.
And the Members being returned;
Ordered, That the Members that did manage the
Conference, do prepare and draw up Reasons, to be
offered at a Conference to be had with the Lords, upon
the Subject Matter of the last Conference.
