Absentees without Leave.
ORDERED, That Serjeant Hardres, Sir John
Shaw, and Mr. Henry Bertie, having departed the
Service of the House without Leave, be sent for in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms: And that they shall not
be admitted to take their Places in the House, until they
have paid the Serjeant his Fees and Charges.
Ordered, That, if Serjeant Hardes, Sir John Shaw, and
Mr. Henry Bertie, shall appear before the Rising of the
House, the Warrant shall be respited.
Giles' Petition.
Mr. Daniel Giles was called in to the Bar: And did
own his Petition preferred to this House on Saturday last.
A Petition, in the Name of Peter Middledorp, Herman
Stubbs, David Stolly, Detlef Stolly, Wickman Lastrop, and
several other Hamburghers, Polanders, Dantzickers, and
Polanders, Owners of the Cargo lately laden on Board the
Ship Prosperous, whereof John Read was Master, was
presented to be read:
And the House being informed, that Mr. Peter Bar
and Mr. Michael Syvers were Agents or Factors for the
said Petitioners; and were ready at the Door to own the
said Petition;
And Mr. Peter Barr and Mr. Michael Syvers being
called in; Mr. Barr did, on the Behalf of Wickman Lastrop, own the said Petition; and said, He was authorized
thereunto by Letter, which he took to be in the Nature of
a Letter of Attorney from the said Petitioner: And Mr.
Syvers did, on the Behalf of the rest of the Petitioners,
own the said Petition; and said, That he was likewise authorized thereunto by Letters, which he took to be in the
Nature of Letters of Attorney from the said Petitioners.
And Mr. Bar and Mr. Syvers being withdrawn;
The Petition was read.
Resolved, That the further Consideration of the said
Petitions be adjourned.
Leave of Absence.
Ordered, That Mr. Richard Williams have Leave to
go into the Country, for Recovery of his Health.
Supply Bill; disbanding the Army.
An ingrossed Bill for granting a Supply to his Majesty,
for paying off and disbanding the Forces raised since the
Twenty-ninth of September 1677, was read the Third time.
An Enacting Clause in Parchment, was presented;
and thrice read to the House.
Resolved, That the said Clause be added to the Bill.
Resolved, &c. That the Bill do pass: And that the
Title be, An Act for granting a Supply to his Majesty of
Two hundred and Six thousand Four hundred Sixty-two
Pounds Seventeen Shillings and Three-pence, for the
effectual paying off and disbanding all the Forces raised,
or brought over from foreign Parts into this Kingdom,
since the Twenty-ninth of September 1677: And that
Sir John Trevor do carry up the Bill to the Lords.
And then the House adjourned till To-morrow
