Letters Patent.

Persons infected with the Plague.

The Bill for Confirmation of Letters Patents, and the Bill for the Charitable Relief and Ordering of Persons infected with the Plague (whereunto their Lordships have added a Proviso), were sent to the Lower House, by Mr. Serjeant Crooke and Mr. Dr. Hone.

Orders for the Exchequer.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Continuance and due Observation of certain Orders for the Exchequer, first set down and established by Virtue of a Privy Seal from the late Queen Elizabeth.

L. Treasurer's Remembrancer.

Upon this Second Reading of the Bill, it was Ordered by the House, That, if Mr. Osborne, the Lord Treasurer's Remembrancer in the Court of Exchequer, did desire to be heard, touching any Particular of that Bill, which doth concern his Place and Office, he should have Hearing before their Lordships accordingly; and that Warning shall be given unto him for that Purpose, to attend their Lordships in the House upon Monday next, the Second of July, by Eight of the Clock in the Morning.

Dover Haven.

Free Liberty of Trade.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for Free Liberty of Trade in all Countries.

Upon the Second Reading of this Bill, it was Ordered by the House, That Warning shall be given as well to such Merchants as have exhibited the Bill, intituled, An Act for free Liberty of Trade into all Countries, as also to the Governors of the Companies of Merchants Adventurers, Merchants trading for Russia, Eastland, Spaine, East India, and Turkie, That some Eight Persons only on the one Part (to be chosen by those Merchants that exhibited the Bill) and a like Number to be selected by the other Companies before mentioned, shall, with their Learned Counsel, attend the Lords, in the said Upper House, on Monday next, the Second of July, by Eight of the Clock in the Morning; at what Time their Lordships will be pleased to give Hearing to that which may be said on either Part concerning the said Bill.

L. Mountague allowed the Liberty of his House.

Whereas the Lord Viscount Mountague hath, on the 26th of this Instant Month of June, by Order of the Upper House of Parliament, been committed to the Prison of The Fleet, for some Speech publickly uttered by him in the House, to the great Scandal and Offence of the said House, and of the whole State; forasmuch as it hath been, in his Behalf, delivered to the House, that he hath been, and is, sorry for the said Offence so given by him, and much grieved for the Displeasure of the House conceived against him, with humble and earnest Desire that the said Displeasure may be removed from him, and his Lordship admitted to have Access again to the House, and there to take the Honour of his Place; it is therefore Ordered, That the said Lord Viscount Mountagu shall forthwith be released and enlarged out of the said Prison of The Fleet; and that his Lordship shall repair to his own House, and there abide until Monday next, the Second of July, and then repair to the said Upper House of Parliament, and there make known, by his own Speech, his Mislike of his said former Offence, and give Satisfaction unto the House for the same.

Garbling Spices.

The Bill for the Well-garbling of Spices, returned unto the House by the Lord Treasurer, the first of the Committees, with a Proviso offered to be added.

Drunkards, &c.

Also the Bill, intituled, An Act to restrain the inordinate Haunting and Tippling in Inns, Alehouses, and other Victualling Houses, was brought into the House, by the Earl of Shrewsburie, the first of the Committees, with certain Amendments and a Proviso offered to be added.

1. An Act to enable John Tebold, Gentleman, to make his Wife a Jointure of certain of his Lands, and to sell some Part for Preferment of his younger Children.

This Bill was sent to the Lower House, with a Proviso thought meet to be added by their Lordships, which now they have returned, with Allowance of the said Proviso.

2. An Act for the Naturalizing of Adam Newton, Esquire. This Bill was sent from the Lords, and now returned as passed by them.

3. An Act to encourage the Seamen of England to take Fish, whereby they may increase, to furnish the Navy of England.

4. An Act against Brokers.

An Act for Explanation of a former Act, made in the Forty-third Year of the Reign of our late Queen Elizabeth, An Act for the enabling of Edward Nevile, of Birlinge, in the County of Kent, and Sir Henry Nevile, Knight, his Son and Heir Apparent, to dispose of certain Copyhold Lands, Parcel of the Manor of Rotherfeild, in the County of Sussex, and of the Manor of Allesley and Filongly, in the County of Warwicke.
