Bills from the H. C.
HODIE allatæ sunt quatuor Billæ a Domo Communi,
presented by Mr. Secretary Herbert and others:
Keeping the Sabbath.
1. An Act for the better observing and keeping holy
the Sabbath Day, or Sunday. Prima vice lecta.
Sale of Lands to Lake.
2. An Act to assure and confirm the Sale of certain
Lands, lying within the County of Middlesex, to Thomas
Lake, Knight, and Dame Marye, his Wife. Prima vice
lecta.
3. An Act for Sale of certain Lands of Sir Jonathan Trelawny, Knight, deceased, for the Payment of
his Debts.
4. An Act for the Assurance of the Jointure of Dame
Elianor Cave, Wife of Sir Thomas Cave, of Stanford, in
the County of Northampton, Knight.
Message concerning the Grievance of Purveyance.
Afterwards they delivered a Message, That they have
dutifully considered of that which was spoken in the late
Conference, touching Purveyance; and that, within
Three or Four Days, they will send up the Articles,
which, at that Time of Conference between the Committees, were shewed, and read; and willingly give a
new Meeting for Conference, when the Lords shall
think good.
Answer.
Answer made, That whereas Respite of Three or
Four Days was required, the Lords desired that some
more Speed might be used, for Delivery of the Articles,
and Proceeding in that Matter; because, the Complaint
being of great Grievances of the People, the Lords were
willing the more speedily to consider both of those Articles, and, in generality, touching the whole Matter of
Purveyance, the sooner to procure Remedy.
Decaved Cities and Towns.
Hodie 1a
vice lecta est Billa, An Act to provide Means
to better the Estate of decayed Cities and Towns.

Hodie 1a
