Message to the Commons. Exportation of Beer.

MESSAGE to the Lower House, by Mr. Serjeant Crooke and Sir Richard Swale: That, in regard the Committees of both Houses on the Bill concerning the Transportation of Beer over the Seas could not meet Yesterday (as was formerly appointed), by reason of their Attendance at Court on the King's Majesty, they would therefore give Meeting to the Lords Committees for Conference on the said Bill, To-morrow, being Friday, 16 May, at the Painted Chamber, by Three in the Afternoon.

Answer.

Answered, That they will be ready to attend the Conference, at the Time and Place prefixed.

The Bill, intituled, An Act for the more sure Establishing and Continuance of True Religion, returned to the House by the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, the first of the Committees, with certain Amendments agreed upon by the greater Number of the said Committees.

Warning to be given to the Parties whom the Bill concerneth, to attend the Lords Committees (with their Counsel Learned, if they shall so think good), at the said Time and Place prefixed; at what Time they shall be heard, in aught they have to say concerning the said Bill.

Exportation of undressed Cloth.

The Bill, intituled, An Act to restrain the Transportation of Coloured Cloths undressed, was this Day brought into the House, by the Lord Treasurer, the first of the Committees; who made Report to the House, That the said Committees, having met again this Day on the said Bill, and heard at great Length as well the Governor and others of the Company of Merchants Adventurers, as also sundry of the Clothiers, and other Persons whom the Bill might concern, did find (upon deliberate Consideration of all Particulars that had been alledged) the Bill utterly unfit to be farther proceeded in.

Adjourn.
