King's Speech.

THE King's Majesty being placed in His Seat of Estate, and the Prince sitting also in his Robes on His Majesty's Left Side, the Commons of the Lower House were assembled at the Bar. It then pleased His Majesty to begin the Parliament by His own Speech.

Commons directed to choose a Speaker.

The King's Speech being ended, the Lord Chancellor made a short Speech, according to the Order of the House in that Behalf; wherein he signified His Majesty's Pleasure to the Commons, That they should repair unto their accustomed Place, and make Choice of some grave and sufficient Gentleman to be their Speaker, and present him to the King's Majesty on Thursday next, the 7th of this Instant April.

Names of Receivers and Triers of Petitions read.

This Day, after the Lord Chancellor had ended his Speech, the Names of Receivers and Triers of Petitions, set down in the former Leaf, was read unto the House, by the Clerk of the Parliament.

Adjourn.

Dominus Cancellarius, ex Mandato Domini Regis, continuavit præsens Parliamentum usque in diem Jovis, 7m Aprilis, hora secunda post meridiem.
