Steward and Ramsay qualify for Naturalization.

THIS Day the Lord Steward did affirm, and testify unto the Lord Chancellor, before a convenient Number of other Lords in the Parliament House, That Sir Frauncis Stewerd, Knight, who now desired that a Bill might be read for Naturalizing of himself and William Ramsey, Esquire, hath, within the Space of One Month next before the 5th Day past of this Instant May, received the Sacrament of the Lord's Supper, according to the Order of the Church of England, and as the Act of Parliament, made in the Seventh Year of the King's Majesty's Reign in this Behalf, requireth. Also the Earl of Mountgomerie did in like Sort then and there affirm and testify, of and concerning the said William Ramsey. Which done, as well the said Sir Frauncis Stewerd as the said William Ramsey, kneeling at the Upper End of the Parliament House, did both, before the said Lord Chancellor, in Presence of the said Lord Steward and a competent Number more of Lords Spiritual and Temporal then there assembled, voluntarily and willingly take the Oath of Supremacy, and the Oath of Allegiance, appointed by Act of Parliament, made in (fn. 1) the Seventh Year of His Majesty's Reign, in this Case to be taken, by such Person or Persons as are to be Naturalized, or restored (fn. 1) in Blood.

The Lord Bishop of Winchester excused for Absence by the Lord Chancellor, by reason of Sickness.

The Lord Wentwoorth's Absence excused for Sickness.

Lord Clifton's Privilege.

Kember arrested.

George Kember, Servant in ordinary to the Lord Clifton, by his Petition, complained that, by Procurement of William Peto, he was lately arrested, by certain Persons, as special Bailiffs, contrary to the Honour and Privilege of this House: Whereupon it was by all the Lords then present Ordered, That the Serjeant as Arms attending this House shall, as soon as he conveniently may, bring before their Lordships the said William Peto, and the said special Bailiffs, with such other Persons as did any Way assist the said Arrest.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Naturalizing of Sir Frauncis Steward, Knight, and William Ramsay, Esquire; ordered to be ingrossed.

Manor of Winslow and its Members.

Hodie 2^a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the ascertaining of Fines upon Admittance, or Tender of Admittance, to any Copyhold or Customary Estates, of the Manor of Winslowe, and the Members thereof, in the County of Bucks, according to a Decree thereof made in the High Court of Chancery, the Five and Twentieth Day of November last past, by Consent of Lord and Tenants.
