PRAYERS.
Defective Laws to be supplied; Methods to lessen Expences of Suits; and Proceedings in Courts to be more expeditious.
The House being moved "To inquire, what Defects
there are in the Laws relating to the Administration
of Justice, and to consider of proper Methods to prevent expensive Suits:"
Lords Committees were appointed, to consider what
Defects there are in the Laws, which may be proper to be supplied or amended, and what Doubts
may be fit to be explained or cleared; and to
consider of proper Methods to lessen the Expences
of Suits, and to make Proceedings in Courts of
Justice more expeditious; and have Power to send
for Persons, Papers, and Records; and report to
the House, from Time to Time, as they shall think
fit; (videlicet,)

Method of keeping Records in Offices, &c.
The House being moved, "That a Committee may be
appointed, to consider of the Method of keeping Records and Public Papers in Offices, and to remedy what
shall be found to be amiss:"
Lords Committees were appointed, to consider of the
Method of keeping Records and Public Papers
in Offices, and how they are kept, and to consider of Ways to remedy what shall be found to
be amiss: Whose Lordships, having considered
thereof, and heard such Persons concerning the
same as they shall think fit, are afterwards to report their Opinion, from Time to Time, to the
House: And the said Committee hath hereby
Power to appoint a Sub-committee, to consider
thereof, and inspect such Offices and Records as
they shall think fit; and report to the Grand Committee.
