Upon reading the Petition of John Thomeur and others; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for their Naturalization:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Petitioners have hereby Leave given them to bring in a Bill, according to the Prayer of their said Petition.

Symons's Petition referred to the Judges.

Upon reading the Petition of Perkins Symmons Gentleman; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for Sale of his Estate in Stanwell, in Middl'x, for Payment of his Debts, to prevent his being cast into Prison:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to Mr. Baron Smith and Mr. Justice Dormer; who are forthwith to summon all Parties that are to be concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition.

Thanks to Bp. of Landaffe, for his Sermon.

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Thanks of this House be given to the Lord Bishop of Landaffe, for the excellent Sermon by him preached before this House, Yesterday, in the Abbey Church at Westminster; and that he be desired to print and publish the same.

Church of England for securing, Bill.

The Lord Archbishop of Canterbury (pursuant to Order) brought in a Bill, intituled, "An Act for securing the Church of England, as by Law established."

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for securing the Church of England, as by Law established."

Ordered, That the said Bill be read a Second Time on Monday next, at Twelve a Clock; and all the Lords summoned.

Stevenson versus Deye.

Upon reading the Petition of Thomas Stevenson and Jane his Wife, Respondents to the Appeal of John Deye, Executor of Elizabeth Ashby, Mother of the Petitioner; praying, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing their Cause; and that John Deye may enter into Recognizance as he ought to do:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Friday the Seventh Day of February next, at Eleven a Clock; and that the said John Deye do enter into a Recognizance in the mean Time; and that the Service of this Order upon the said John Dey's Solicitor attending this House shall be good Service, in order thereunto.

Wilson versus Story:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Ralph Wilson Junior and Margaret his Wife, from an Order or Decree of the Court of Chancery in Ireland, of the Eighth of May One Thousand Seven Hundred and Five, whereby it was decreed, "That the Respondents, then Plaintiffs in the Court of Chancery, should have a perpetual Injunction, to stay the Appellant's Proceedings at Law, on the Ejectment for Bilboe and Colnemoney, and the Lands in Question, as in the Appeal is set forth;" which Decree was signed, and enrolled; and praying the Reversal of the said Order and Decree: As also upon the Answer of George Warter Story and Katherine his Wife put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of the said Ralph Wilson and Margaret his Wife shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and the said Order and Decree therein complained of shall be, and are hereby, affirmed.

Clerke versus Wats.

Upon reading the Petition of Winifred Clerk, an Instant, by Susan Bee her Grandmother and next Friend; praying, "That Mr. John Watts, the Respondent's Attorney and Commissioner, that took the Fine in Question, should attend this House, at the Hearing of her Cause, to answer such Questions as the House shall think fit to ask him; and that the Cursitor, the Receiver of the Fines, the Chirographer, and Custos Brevium Officers, should attend, with the Records, Rolls, Books, and Papers, touching the same:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said John Watts the Respondent's Attorney and Commissioner, the Cursitor, the Receiver of Fines, the Chirographer, and the Custos Brevium, do attend this House To-morrow, at Eleven a Clock, with the said Records, Rolls, Books, and Papers, according to the Prayer of the said Petition.

Strode versus Andrews, in Error.

Whereas, Tuesday the Fourth Day of February next is appointed, to hear the Errors argued, upon the Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein Dame Catherine Strode Widow, is Plaintiff, and Thomas Andrews, Lessee of Francis Windham Esquire, is Desendant:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Judges of Her Majesty's Court of Queen's Bench do attend this House on Tuesday next, at Twelve a Clock.
