Upon reading the Petition of the Lord Mayor, Aldermen, and Common Council, of the City of London; shewing, "That they are entitled to certain ancient Duties, for the Package, Scavage, Portage, and Balliage, of the Goods of all Merchants Strangers brought into, or carried out of, the Port of London; and that these Duties have been confirmed by Acts of Parliament and divers Royal Charters; that the Revenue on the said Duties are considerable, and leased out for Years; and that there is a Bill now depending in this House, for naturalizing Foreign Protestants; which Bill, if passed, will be prejudicial to the Petitioners, unless Care be taken therein to preserve their Rights to the said Duties; and praying to be heard, by their Counsel, before the said Bill do pass:"

Lloyd versus Wynne.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Symon Lloyd, Defendant in the Cause in Chancery, wherein the now Respondent William Wynne and Marg't his Wife, Executrix of Meredith Lloyd, were Plaintiffs, against the Appellant then Defendant, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Four and Twentieth Day of January in the Sixth Year of Her now Majesty's Reign; praying the Reversal of the said Decree, and the Bill dismissed:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said William Wynne and Margaret his Wife may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and they are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on Friday the Five and Twentieth Day of this Instant March, at Eleven a Clock.

Muirheid versus Muirheid.

Upon reading the Petition of James Muirheid, Respondent to the Appeal of Rose Muirheid; praying, "That Monday next may be appointed for hearing this Cause, in regard his Counsel are retained, and that on Tuesday next they are obliged to go the Circuit:"

Upon reading the Petition of Susanna Frere; praying a Day may be appointed for hearing her Cause depending in this House, to which Mirable Boteler is Respondent; and that she may be admitted in Forma Pauperis, and Mr. Phipps and Mr. Morgan be assigned Counsel for her:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, on Friday the Eighteenth Instant, at Eleven a Clock; and that the Petitioner shall be admitted in Forma Pauperis, and Mr. Phipps and Mr. Morgan assigned Counsel for the Petitioner at the said Hearing.

The Earl of Sunderland, by Her Majesty's Command, pursuant to the Address of this House to Her Majesty, the First Instant, delivered several Papers relating to that Part of (fn. *) North Britain called Scotland.

Champernowne versus Hillersden.

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Henry Champernowne, from a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the Twentieth of June in the Fifth Year of Her present Majesty's Reign, on the Behalf of Ursula Hillersden; and praying the Reversal of the said Decree: As also upon the Answer of the said Ursula Hillersden put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement affirmed, with Costs.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition and Appeal of Henry Champernowne shall be, and is hereby, dismissed this House; and that the Decree therein complained of shall be, and is hereby, affirmed: And it is further Ordered, That the said Henry Champernowne shall pay, or cause to be paid, unto the said Ursula Hillersden, the Sum of Ten Pounds, for her Costs.
