PRAYERS.

The Lord Chancellor acquainted the House, "That Her Majesty had sent a Commission for the further proroguing of the Parliament."

Then the Lords Commissioners, in their Robes, being seated on a Form, placed between the Throne and the Woolsack; the Lord Chancellor in the Middle; the Lord Archbishop of Canterbury, the Duke of Somerset, and the Earl of Sunderland, on his Right Hand; and the Lord Steward on his Left; commanded the Deputy Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod to let the Commons know, "That the Lords Commissioners desire "them to come, and hear the said Commission read."

Who being come, with their Speaker; the Commission was read, by the Clerk, as follows; (videlicet,)

Octavo Die Julii ult. præterit. inchoari et teneri ordinavimus; a quo Die idem Parliamentum Nostrum usque ad et in Nonum Diem Septembris tunc prox. sequen. prorogatum fuerat; et abinde, per separales Prorogationes et Adjournamenta, ad et in instantem Diem Jovis, Vicesimum Tertium Diem Junii, prorogatum et adjournatum fuerat, apud Civitatem Nostram Westm. prædictam, ibidem tunc tenendum et prosequendum: Sciatis tamen, quod, certis urgentibus Causis et Considerationibus Nos specialiter moventibus, idem Parliamentum Nostrum ulterius prorogandum duximus. De Fidelitate igitur, Prudentia, et Circumspectionibus vestris plurimum confidentes, de Avisamento et Assensu Concilii Nostri, assignavimus vos Commissionarios Nostros; dantes vobis, et aliquibus Tribus vel Potestatem bus vestrum, Tenore Præsentium, plenam Potestatem et Auctoritatem, hoc instante Die Jovis, ad præsens Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, usque ad et in Diem Jovis, Sextum Diem Octobris jam. prox. sequen. apud prædictam Civitatem Nostram Westm. prorogandum et continuandum, ibidemque tunc tenendum et prosequendum; et ideo vobis mandamus, quod circa Præmissa diligenter intendatis, ac ea in Forma prædicta effectualiter expleatis. Damus autem universis et singulis Archiepiscopis, Ducibus, Marchionibus, Comitibus, Vicecomitibus, Episcopis, Baronibus, Militibus, Civibus, Burgensibus, et Commissionariis pro Comitatibus et Burg. ac omnibus aliis quorum interest ad dictum Parliamentum Nostrum conventuris, Tenore Præsentium, firmiter in Mandatis, quod vobis in Præmissis faciendis, agendis, et exercendis pareant, obediant, et intendant, prout decet. Cancellario Nostro Magnæ Britannia, Magno Thesaurario Nostro Magnæ Britanniæ, Custodi Privati Sigilli Nostri, Senescallo Hospitii Nostri, Magistro Equorum Nostrorum, Duci Marlborough, Comiti Pembroke et Montgomery (tunc Præsidenti Concilii Nostri), et Comiti Sunderland, vel aliquibus Tribus eorum, plenam Potestatem ad Parliamentum Nostrum, Nomine Nostro, inchoandum et tenendum, et ad exponendum et declarandum, et exponi et declarari faciendum, Causas Summonitionis Parliamenti prædicti, et in omnibus et singulis in eo emergen. procedend.; et ad faciend. omnia et singula quæ pro Nobis, et per Nos, pro bono Regimine et Gubernatione prædicti Regni Nostri Magnæ Britanniæ, ac aliorum Dominiorum Nostrorum eidem Regno Nostro pertinentium, ibidem fuerint facien.; neonon ad Parliamentum illud, si necesse fuerit, continuand. adjournand. et prorogand. Ulterius igitur per has Præsentes Nostras Literas Patentes declaramus, quod dictæ hæ Patentes Nostræ prærecitatæ, et omnes Clausulæ, Materiæ, et Res quæcunque in eis contentæ, sunt et erunt in tam plenis Vigore et Potestate, quam si hæ Literæ Nostræ Patentes non fuissent habit. vel fact. his Literis Nostris Patentibus vel aliqu. in eis content. non obstantibus. Ulteriusque ordinamus et constituimus, quod dicti Archiepiscopus Cantuar. Cancellarius Noster Magnæ Britanniæ, Magnus Thesaurarius Noster Magnæ Britanniæ, Custos Privati Sigilli Nostri, Senescallus Hospitii Nostri, Magister Equorum Nostrorum, Dux Marlborough, Comes Pembroke et Montgomery, et Comes Sunderland, vel aliqui Tres eorum, exequentur omnes Potestates et Auctoritates in dictis recitatis Literis Patentibus, mentionat. et express. quæ adhuc restant performed. et perimplend. In cujus Rei Testimonium, has Literas Nostras fieri fecimus Patentes.

Then the Lord Chancellor sale,

"My Lords and Gentlemen,

Parliament prorogued.

"By virtue of Her Majesty's Commission for opening this present Parliament, and that now read, we do, in Her Majesty's Name, prorogue this Parliament to Thursday the Sixth Day of October next: And this Parliament is prorogued accordingly to Thursday the Sixth Day of October next."
