Palmer's Bill:

The Earl of Scarsdale reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Lease for One and Twenty Years, made by Jeffery Palmer Esquire and others, of Lands in Carlton Curliew, in the County of Leicester, for Payment of the Debts of the said Jeffery Palmer, was committed: That they had considered the said Bill; and think it fit to pass, without any Amendment."

Hodie 3^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Lease for One and Twenty Years, made by Jeffery Palmer Esquire and others, of Lands in Carlton Curliew, in the County of Leicester, for Payment of the Debts of the said Jeffery Palmer."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Onslow and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Henry Arundell Esquire and his Heirs the Trust in the Estate of the Lord Viscount Mountagu, which is vested in Her Majesty by the Attainder of John Caryll Esquire for High Treason;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting in Henry Arundell Esquire and his Heirs the Trust in the Estate of the Lord Viscount Mountagu, which is vested in Her Majesty by the Attainder of John Caryll Esquire for High Treason."

The Earl Poulet (by Her Majesty's Command) signified to the House, "That Her Majesty was pleased to give Her Consent to the passing the said Bill."

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Manor of Bucksteep, and several Lands in Sussex, the Estate of Joseph Weller Esquire, in Trustees, to be sold, for discharging the Incumbrances thereon; and applying the Surplus-money to certain Uses and Trusts therein mentioned;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for vesting the Manor of Bucksteep, and several Lands in Sussex, the Estate of Joseph Weller Esquire, in Trustees, to be sold, for discharging the Incumbrances thereon; and applying the Surplus-money to certain Uses and Trusts therein mentioned."

Upon the First Reading of the said Bill, it is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration thereof shall be, and is hereby, referred to Mr. Justice Powell and Mr. Justice Eyre; who are forthwith to summon all Parties that are to be concerned therein; and, after hearing them, and perusing a Copy of the Bill attested by the Clerk of the Parliaments, are to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands.

Calvert's Divorce Bill.

The House was (according to Order) adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee on the Bill, intituled, "An Act for confirming a Sentence given in the Arches Court of Canterbury, for divorcing Benedict Leonard Calvert Esquire and the Lady Charlotte his Wife; and for bastardizing the spurious Issue of the said Lady Charlotte."

After some Time, the House was resumed.

And the Lord Howard of Escrick reported, "That the Committee had sat upon the said Bill; and that the Allegations therein had been made out; but it appeared there was an Appeal depending before the Delegates, against the said Sentence given in the Arches Court of Canterbury."

Ordered, That the said Bill do lie on the Table, till the said Appeal be determined.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Gilbert Dolben and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Part of the Estate of Philip Saltmarshe. Esquire, for Payment of his Debts and Incumbrances, and laying out the Surplus in other Purchases; and also for confirming an Agreement for a Partition, Division, and Exchange, of other Part of his Estate, in the Counties of Nottingham and Dorset;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Hodie 1^a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for Sale of Part of the Estate of Philip Saltmarshe Esquire, for Payment of his Debts and Incumbrances, and laying out the Surplus in other Purchases; and also for confirming an Agreement for a Partition, Division, and Exchange, of other Part of his Estate, in the Counties of Nottingham and Dorset."
