PRAYERS.

Annesley versus Duke and Dutchess of Bucks, Privilege:

The Earl Ferrers reported from the Lords Committees for Privileges, to whom was referred the Consideration of the Petition of Francis Annesley Esquire, on Behalf of himself and of the Right Honourable the Lady Catherine Annesley, an Infant, presented to this House the Seventeenth Instant; praying, "That the said Petitioner may be at Liberty to proceed in a Cause now depending in the Court of Chancery against the Duke and Dutchess of Buckingham, notwithstanding any Privilege of Parliament claimed by the said Duke: That the said Committee had considered of the Matter to them referred, and were come to the following Resolution; (videlicet,)

Privilege not allowed.

"That it is the Opinion of this Committee, that the Duke and Dutchess of Buckingham have no Privilege in this Case."

To which the House agreed.

L. Gower's Bill.

The Earl of Nottingham reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable John Lord Gower, Baron of Stit'nham, an Infant, to make a Settlement upon his Marriage," was referred: "That they had considered the said Bill; and that the Parties concerned had given their Consents thereunto; and that the Committee think it fit to pass, with some Amendments."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to; and the Bill ordered to be engrossed, with the said Amendments.

Hinde discharged.

Whereas Andrew Hinde, Author, Printer, and Publisher, of a false and scandalous Paper, intituled, "The Earl of Nottingham's Speech to the Honourable House of Lords," was, pursuant to the Order Yesterday, brought to the Bar; and, kneeling, was reprimanded by the Lord Keeper:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Andrew Hinde shall be, and is hereby, discharged (paying his Fees): And this shall be a sufficient Warrant on that Behalf.

To Sir William Oldes, Gentleman Usher of the Black Rod attending this House, his Deputy, or Deputies, and every of them.

Dutchess of Bedford & al. Pet. referred to Judges.

Upon reading the Petition, as well of Elizabeth Dutchess Dowager of Bedford, the Lady Rachael Russell, and Elizabeth Howland Widow, the Mother and Grandmothers of Wriothesley Duke of Bedford, and the Lord John Russell his Brother, Infants, on Behalf of the said Infants; as also of the Lord Edward Russell, Lord James Russell, and William Russell Esquire, on their own Behalf; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for the Purposes in the Petition mentioned:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Consideration of the said Petition shall be, and is hereby, referred to Mr. Justice Powell and Mr. Baron Bury; who are forthwith to summon all Parties concerned in the Bill; and, after hearing them, to report to the House the State of the Case, with their Opinion thereupon, under their Hands, and whether all Parties that may be concerned in the Consequences of the Bill have signed the Petition; and also that the Judges, having perused the Bill, do sign the same.

Adjourn.
