PRAYERS.

Mayor, &c. of Hertford versus Poor of Hertford.

Whereas Saturday next is appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein the Mayor, Aldermen, and Commonalty of the Borough of Hertford are Appellants, and the Poor of the said Borough Respondents: The House being this Day moved, on Behalf of the said Appellants, "That the said Hearing may be put off a few Days, in regard Her Majesty has been pleased to make Sir Thomas Powys, who was One of their Counsel, One of the Justices of the Court of Queen's Bench:"

It is therefore Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Wednesday next, the First Business.

Harrington's Bill.

The Lord Bishop of Chester reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable John Harrington Esquire and Dorothy his Wife, and Charles Harrington Gentleman, Son and Heir Apparent of the said John Harrington, to sell the Reversion of several Messuages and Tenements in Liverpoole, in the County of Lancaster, being the Inheritance of the said Dorothy, for Payment of their Debts, and settling an Equivalent for the said Dorothy," was committed: "That they had considered thereof; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had directed him to report the Bill to the House, without any Amendment."

Ordered, That the said Bill be engrossed.

Constable's Bill.

The Lord Bishop of Chester reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for Sale of several Lands and Tenements of John Constable Gentleman, in the Parish of Ockley, in the County of Surrey, for Payment of his Debts; and for settling other Lands, in the same County, of a better Value, to the same Uses," was committed: That they had considered thereof; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had made some Amendments to the Bill."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Ordered, That the said Bill, with the Amendments, be engrossed.

Soldiers, &c. to exercise Trades, and Officers to accompt, Bill.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable such Officers and Soldiers as have been in Her Majesty's Service during the late War to exercise Trades; and for Officers to accompt with their Soldiers."

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Thursday next.

Malt Bill.

The Order being read, for the Second Reading of the Bill for granting to Her Majesty Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder, and Perry, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirteen:

It was proposed, "That the said Reading be put off till Monday next."

And Debate thereupon;

The Question was put, "Whether the said Bill shall be now read a Second Time?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Hodie 2a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for granting to Her Majesty Duties upon Malt, Mum, Cyder, and Perry, for the Service of the Year One Thousand Seven Hundred and Thirteen; and for making forth Duplicates of Lottery Tickets lost, burnt, or destroyed; and for enlarging the Time for adjusting Claims in several Lottery Acts, and to punish the counterfeiting or forging of Lottery Orders; and for explaining a late Act in relation to Stamp Duties on Customary Estates which pass by Deed and Copy."

Then it being proposed, "To commit the Bill;"

After farther Debate; and reading the 13th and 14th Articles of the Union:

Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a Committee of the whole House, on Monday next, at Twelve a Clock; and all the Lords to be summoned.

Adjourn.
