Menzies versus Menzies & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Charles Menzies of Kinmundie, Writer to Her Majesty's Signet, from several Interlocutors, or Orders, of the Lords of Council and Session in Scotland, on the Behalf of Helen, Barbara, and Jane Menzies, Sisters to the late deceased Thomas Menzies of Kinmundie, and Robert Muir Merchant in Aberdeen, Husband to the said Barbara, and their Assignee, for his Interest; praying to be relieved against the said Interlocutors:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Helen Menzies and the other Parties above mentioned may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and are hereby required to put in their Answer or respective Answers thereunto, in Writing, on or before Friday the Thirtieth Day of this Instant April, at Eleven a Clock.

Sir H Wasteneys versus Chappell.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of Sir Hardolph Wasteneys Baronet, from so much of a Decree made in the Court of Chancery, the 2d Day of March 1712, as would entitle Charles Chappell to redeem the Leasehold Estate in the Petition mentioned in equal Moieties with the Petitioner, and as orders the said Chappell to be let into the Possession thereof equally with the Petitioner; praying, "That the same may be reversed:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Charles Chappell may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and is hereby required to put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Friday the Sixteenth Day of this Instant April, at Eleven a Clock.

Booth versus E. Warrington.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of George Booth Esquire, from an Order made in the Court of Chancery, the 6th Day of March 1712, in a Cause wherein the Right Honourable George Earl of Warrington was Plaintiff, and the Appellant Defendant; and from a Decree made in the said Cause the 22d of June 1713, and a subsequent Decree of the 16th of March last, on Behalf of the said Earl of Warrington; praying, "That the same may be reversed:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said George Earl of Warrington may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and put in his Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Friday the Sixteenth Day of this Instant April, at Eleven a Clock.

The Lord Treasurer acquainted the House, "That the Lords with White Staves had (according to Order) presented to Her Majesty the Address of this House of Wednesday last, for Papers relating to the Demolition of Dunkirk; and that Her Majesty had been pleased to direct, that the several Papers desired by the said Address should be laid before this House accordingly."

E. Suffolk takes the Oaths.

Henry Earl of Suffolk and Bindon took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

Papers relating to the Catalans read:

Then the Account of the State of the several Treaties of Peace between Her Majesty and Her Allies, and France and Spain, with an Account of the Obstructions in the Negotiations of Peace, and of what was done relating to the Catalans, and the several Letters and Papers laid before the House this Day in relation to that People, as also Her Majesty's most Gracious Speech to both Houses of Parliament on the 27th of November 1705, and the Letters mentioned therein, then laid before this House, in relation to Catalonia; were read.

Address concerning them to be drawn.

Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That an humble Address be presented to Her Majesty, "To express the very great Satisfaction of this House, in Her Majesty's Endeavours, that the Catalans might have the full Enjoyment of all their just and ancient Liberties secured to them; and to return the Thanks of this House to Her Majesty for the same; and humbly to pray Her Majesty, That Her Majesty will be graciously pleased to continue Her Interposition, in the most pressing Manner, that the Catalans may have the full Enjoyment of their just and ancient Privileges continued to them."

Then the Lords following were appointed a Committee, to draw the said Address; and report to the House; (videlicet,)
