Sir Hardolph Wasteneys versus Chappel.

The House being moved, "That a Day may be appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein Sir Hardolph Wasteneys is Appellant, and Charles Chappell Respondent:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Thursday the Twenty-ninth Day of this Instant April, at Eleven a Clock.

Barbison versus Beaumont & Ux.

The Lord Chief Baron of Her Majesty's Court of Exchequer, in the usual Manner, brought up a Writ of Error, wherein

William Barbison is Plaintiff, against

John Beaumont and his Wife Defendants.

Message from H. C. with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir John Packington and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Highway, or Road, from the City of Worcester, to the Borough of Droitwich, in the County of Worcester;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Worcester and Droitwich, Highways, Bill.

Hodie 1a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for repairing the Highway, or Road, from the City of Worcester, to the Borough of Droitwich, in the County of Worcester."

Mallock's Pet. dismissed.

The Report of the Judges, to whom was referred the Petition of Rawlin Mallock Esquire, and Richard Mallock his Brother; praying Leave to bring in a Bill, for Sale of some Part of the Estate in the Petition mentioned, for Payment of the Debts of Rawlin Mallock, heretofore of Cockington, in the County of Devon, Esquire, deceased, and other Purposes therein expressed, being read; and it appearing, by the said Report, that the said Estate is no Ways charged or affected by the said Debts:

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Petition of Rawlin Mallock and Richard Mallock his Brother be dismissed this House.

Officers in H. C. to limit the Number of, Bill:

The House (according to Order) was adjourned during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the Bill, intituled, "An Act for securing the Freedom of Parliaments, by limiting the Number of Officers in the House of Commons."

And, after some Time spent therein, the House was resumed.

And the Lord North & Grey reported from the said Committee, "That they had gone through the Bill; and directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendment."

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for securing the Freedom of Parliaments, by limiting the Number of Officers in the House of Commons."

Rejected.

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Negative.

Business removed.

Ordered, That the Cause appointed to be heard on Monday next be put off to Tuesday; and all other Business removed One Day in Course.

Adjourn.
