D. Shrewsbury takes the Oaths.

This Day Charles Duke of Shrewsbury Lord Chamberlain took the Oaths, and made and subscribed the Declaration, and also took and subscribed the Oath of Abjuration, pursuant to the Statutes.

E. of Bellomont's Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act to enable the Right Honourable Richard Earl of Bellomont, with the Consent of Lucy Anne Countess Dowager of Bellomont, to sell certain Lands in Ireland, for raising Money, to purchase the said Countess's Jointure, and for paying her Daughter's Portion."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Orlebar and Mr. Dormer:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Messages from thence, with Bills.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Earl and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for making more effectual, an Act passed in the Seventh and Eighth Year of the Reign of His late Majesty King William the Third, intituled, An Act for erecting of Hospitals and Workhouses within the City of Bristol, for the better employing and maintaining the Poor thereof;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Jennings and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for the more effectual preventing and punishing the stealing or unlawful killing of Cattle;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Prendergast's Bill.

The Lord North and Grey reported from the Lords Committees, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Sir Thomas Prendergast Baronet, an Infant, to sell Part of his Estate, lying in the County of Waterford, in the Kingdom of Ireland, for the Payment of his Father's Debts, and other Purposes therein mentioned," was committed: "That they had considered the said Bill, and examined the Allegations thereof, which they found to be true; that the Parties concerned had given their Consents; and that the Committee had made some Amendments to the Bill."

Which were read Twice, and agreed to.

Ordered, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be engrossed.

Schism, to prevent the Growth of, Bill.

The Lord Archbishop of York (according to Order) reported from the Committee of the whole House, to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act to prevent the Growth of Schism; and for the further Security of the Church of England as by Law established," was committed, the Amendments made by the Committee to the said Bill.

Which were read.

And, upon the Second Reading of the same Amendments, several of them were agreed to; some disagreed to; and others agreed to, with Amendments.

And, it being proposed, "To agree with the Committee, in the Clause to extend the Provisions in the said Bill to Ireland;"

And Debate thereupon:

The Question was put, "Whether to agree with the Committee in this Amendment?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Then Amendments were agreed to be made to the Title of the Bill.

And,

Ordered, That the said Bill be read the Third Time To-morrow, at Two a Clock; and the Lords to be summoned.

Adjourn.
