Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, An Act for the Settling and Confirmation of the Copyhold Estates and Customs of the Tenants in Base Tenure of the Manor of Cheltenham, in the County of Gloucester, and of the Manor of Asheley, otherwise called Charleton Kings, in the said County, being holden of the said Manor of Cheltenham, according to an Agreement thereof made between the King's most Excellent Majesty, being then Prince of Wales, Duke of Cornewall and of Yorke, and Earl of Chester, Lord of the said Manor of Cheltenham, and Giles Grivell, Esquire, Lord of the said Manor of Asheley, and the said Copy-holders of the said several Manors.

Put to the Question, and generally Assented unto.

Ld. Cavan in Ireland, Son-in-Law to the Ld. Roberts, his Privilege.

This Day was read the Petition of Charles Lord Lambart, Baron of Cavan, in the Realm of Ireland:

Shewing,

"That, having a Writ of Privilege granted unto him by the Right Honourable the Lord Keeper, not expired until the 12th of July, and being Son-in-Law unto Richard Lord Robertes, and one of his Family, and daily appointed to give his personal Attendance upon his Lordship, and to be employed by him for divers special Occasions during the Time of this Parliament, ready to be shewed under his Seal at Arms, and registered in the Sheriff's Office of Midd. and thereby, according to the ancient Liberties and Privileges of the Peers of this Realm, ought to have his Body freed from Arrests; yet notwithstanding, upon the Seven and Twentieth Day of this Instant June, he was arrested upon Mesne Process, and yet remaineth in the Custody of the Sheriff of Midd.

"He humbly prayeth, that he may have his Liberty restored, and such Satisfaction for the Abuses offered unto him as to their Lordships shall seem meet."

The which Petition being read, it was referred to the Lords Committees for Privileges, etc. and one other Petition also of Rowland Heylin and Robert Packhurst, Aldermen of London, and High-sheriffs of Midd. and of Nathaniell Sampson, Gentleman, their Under-sheriff, there was read; shewing the Manner of the said Arrest, etc. and referred to the said Lords Committees for Privileges, etc. and their Lordships are to meet thereon this Afternoon.

Whitcher to be released.

George Whitcher, Vintner, who was committed on the 28th of this June unto The Gatehouse in Westm. for keeping of a Tavern near the Parliament House, in Contempt of an Order made the last Session of Parliament to the contrary, did this Day petition the Lords to be released out of his said Imprisonment; and that he may be privileged by their Lordships for his safe and free Return, with his Goods and Household Stuff, to his former Dwelling.

Their Lordships, considering of this Petition, did readily condescend unto his Enlargement; but referred the rest unto the Lords Sub-committees for Privileges, etc.
