Preb. disputed between William Norwich and Ugolino de Adigheriis. William displaced Ugolino claiming he was a married knight, pope declared accusation false and reinstated Ugolino 20 June 1343 (CPL. 111 95).
Michael Northburgh obtained possession and exch. 29 Apr. 1344 with Hugh Newton for hospital of High Wycombe, Bucks. (Reg. VI ff. 119b, 120). Bp's mand. adm. Newton 29 Apr., instal. 5 May (A.C. A2/25 ff. 10b, 11). He had royal gr. 28 Jan. 1344 (C.P.R. 1343-1345 pp. 193, 201).
King confiscated fruits of preb. 26 Nov. 1346, held by Ugolino, an alien, but gave protection to his proctors (CPR. 1345-1348 p. 213; CCR. 1346-1349 pp. 194, 307).
John Stretley claimed it on strength of judgt. in ct. of abp. of Canterbury, tried to enter by force Sept. 1347 and May 1349 (CPR. 1345-1348 pp. 408-9; CCR. 1349-1354 p. 29). Bp. coll. to Peter Wotton 5 May 1349 (Reg. IX f. 443).
