Ordinance to repair Mesey Hampton Chapel.
An Ordinance was presented to this House, for repairing the Chapel of Mesey Hampton, in the County of
Gloucester, and providing a competent Provision for a
Minister; and read Twice, and committed to these Lords

Ordered, That Mr. Tho. Goodwin shall have Thanks
returned him, for his Sermon Yesterday, and desired to
print his Sermon.
West to be instituted to Okeford Shelling.
Ordered, That Doctor Heath shall give Institution and Induction to Richard West Clerk, Master of
Arts, to the Rectory of Okeford Shellinge, in the County
of Dorsett, void by the Death of Wm. Biston Clerk;
salvo Jure cujuscunque: The said Mr. West taking the
Covenant, and producing his Presentation thereunto
under the Hand and Seal of Sir Rob't Coke, Patron.
Ordinance to suppress Stage Plays.
Resolved, That an Ordinance shall be brought in, for
the suppressing of Stage Players and Stage Plays, for
Twelve Months.
Preachers at the Fast.
Ordered, That Mr. Marshall and Mr. Sympson are
appointed to preach, the next Fast-day, in the Abbey
Church at Westm. before the Lords.
Message from the H. C. with an Ordinance; —to send Commissioners to Scotland with Commissioners Names for Wilts;—and for a Conference about the Sheriffs.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons,
by Sir Tho. Wroth Knight, &c.; who brought up divers
Particulars, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence:
1. An Ordinance to pay to the Forces in several Counties the Monies that arise out of those Parts.(Here enter it.)
Agreed to.
2. To desire Concurrence in naming Commissioners to
go into Scotland; and desire their Lordships would please
to appoint some Members of this House to go likewise.
3. Some Names to be added to the County of Wilts.
(Here enter them.)
Agreed to.
4. To desire a Conference, concerning the Matter of
the Sheriffs, at such Times as their Lordships shall please
to appoint.
Ordered, To give a Conference To-morrow Morning, at Eleven a Clock.
Commissioners to go to Scotland.
Ordered, That this House agrees with the House
of Commons, that Mr. Bryan Stapilton, Wm. Ashurst,
Rob't Goodwin, and John Birch, Esquires, (fn. *) do go Commissioners into Scotland; and that this House nominates
the Earl of Denbigh and the Earl of Stamford to join
with the said Commissioners; that their Lordships be
acquainted herewith to know whether it will stand with
their present Condition of Affairs to go.
The Answer returned was:
Answer to the H. C.
That this House agrees to the Orders now brought
up, and do approve of the Commissioners Names to
go into Scotland, and will name some Members of this
House to join with them; and that this House appoints
a Conference To-morrow Morning, at Eleven of the
Clock, upon the Subject-matter desired.
Clamp's Ordinance to be Searcher of Lynn.
The Ordinance for Richard Clampe to be Officer of
the Searcher's Place of King's Lynne, was read, and
Agreed to; and Ordered to be sent to the House of
Commons for their Concurrence.
De Landahola, a Hab. Corp.
Ordered, That a Habeas Corpus be issued out, to
bring Ignatio De Landahola forthwith to this Bar, Corpus cum Causa; and that it is referred to the Committee
for Foreign Affairs, to consider of it, and take some
Course that no Letters of Mart be granted by France,
to interrupt the Trade of this Kingdom, which is endeavoured to be procured by La Fita.
Privilege of Peers in Suits.
The Earl of Mulgrave reported what the Committee
had drawn up concerning the Privileges of Parliament
of such Lords as have deserted the Parliament to be
suspended; which was read, and Ordered to be (fn. †) debated on Wednesday next, (fn. †) at which Time the Lords
are to have Notice to attend the House.
Thompson to be instituted to Bothell.
Ordered, That Dr. Aylett give Institution and Induction unto John Thompson Clerk, Batchelor of Arts,
to the Rectory of Bothell, in Com. Northumberland,
void by Death of the last Incumbent; salvo Jure cujuscunque: Granted by the Great Seal.
Order to disband Supernumeraries; and for paying the Army, to prevent Free Quarter.
"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled
in Parliament, That the Committee of the Army do
forthwith issue Warrants, for Payment of the Army
Eight and Twenty Days Pay out of the Monies in
the several Counties collected for the Six Months
Assessments, as the Army is now dispersed; and do
employ the rest of those Assessments to pay and disband the supernumerary Forces; and that the respective Commissioners of such Counties as the Committee for the Army shall or have written unto do,
within Fourteen Days, cause the Residue of those Six
Months Assessments to be paid into the Treasury at
Guildhall, London : And it is further Ordered, That
the Committee of the Army do take Care that the
Army, after this Month's Pay, be paid out of the
succeeding Month's Assessments of the several Counties; and, for this End, all Commissioners are to see
the Monies of Three succeeding Months collected,
that the Army may be paid therewith, in the several
Counties, out of the Money there arising by those
succeeding Three Months Assessments, so that Free
Quarter be prevented."
Commissioners for Assessments in Wilts.
"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled
in Parliament, That William Eyre and Anthony Hungerford Esquires, William Yarbury of Bromham, Francis Leigh of Bromham, and William Green of Hilcott,
Gentlemen, be added to the Commissioners in the
County of Wilts, for the Monthly Assessments of
Sixty Thousand Pounds in that County."
