Eltonhead's Possession of Shepping House quieted.
Upon reading the Petition of Edward Eltonheade,
One of the Masters of the Chancery, and an Attendant
upon this House; and upon reading an Affidavit of
Eliz. Newman, shewing, "That the Petitioner is by
Force dispossessed of his House, called Shepping, in
the County of Essex, by one Brickwood,
Manshall Clench, Jonathan Smalwood, Edmund Burroughs, and Ham, during the Time of his Attendance upon this House:"
Brickwood & al to be attached.
It is Ordered, That the Offenders shall be attached,
and brought before this House, to answer the same;
and that the Sheriff and Justices of the Peace of the
County of Essex shall put the Petitioner into quiet Posession.
Ordinance for Ministers at Windsor.
An Ordinance was presented to this House, for appointing Three Ministers to preach at Windsor, and to
have One Hundred Pounds Yearly apiece for their
Maintenance; and, being read Twice, was passed, and
ordered to be sent to the House of Commons for their
Concurrence.
Assembly of Divines Papers to be printed.
Whereas there is an Order of the Right Honourable
the House of Peers, for the Printing of all the Reasons of the Dissenting Brethren against several Propositions concerning Presbyterial Government, and the
Answers of the Assembly to those Reasons:
It is Ordered, That the like Order be granted, for
the Printing of the Answer of the Assembly to the Reasons against the Proposition concerning Ordination, the
Reasons being already printed; and the Answer of the
Assembly to those Reasons, though brought into the Assembly long before their Lordships Order, yet not
passing in the Assembly till since the said Order, and
so is not included in it.
Babington and Bambridge's Petitions.
Upon reading the Petition of Henry Babington, and
also the Petition of Nath. Bambrigg:
It is Ordered, That the Consideration of the said
Petitions are hereby referred to Mr. Justice Bacon, Mr.
Justice Roll, and Sir Nath. Brent; and to report to
this House how these Cases are fit to be relieved.
Sir T. Walsingham and Ramsay.
Upon reading the Answer of Sir Thomas Walsingham, to the Petition of Rob't Ramsey:
It is Ordered, That the said Rob't Ramsey shall
have a Copy of this Answer, and return his Answer
by this Day Sevennight.
Votes for displacing Glynn, and and making Steele Recorder of London.
Next, the Two Votes brought from the House of
Commons, for putting Mr. Glyn out of his Place of
Recordership of London, and recommending Mr. Steele
to be in his Place Recorder, were read.
And, for Debate thereof, the House was put into a
Committee during Pleasure.

It is Ordered, That the Earl of Denbigh, the
Lord Wharton, and the Lord Howard, do report to this
House, with all convenient Speed, all the Examinations
taken by the Committee that examined the Business of
the Force upon the Parliament, which concern Mr. Recorder Glyn.
Message from the H. C. with Ordinances and Orders.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Dennis Bond Esquire; who brought up divers
Particulars, wherein their Lordships Concurrence is
desired:
1. An Order to give Thirty Pounds a piece to Captain Davies and Captain Barrington. (Here enter it.)
Agreed to.
2. An Order for Ely House to be for the maimed
Soldiers.
3. An Ordinance for the speedy bringing in the
Arrears of the Assessments of the Sixty Thousand
Pounds per Mensem in the City of London.
4. An Ordinance for raising Six Thousand Pounds,
for the Four Hundred Soldiers added to the Forces
already in The Tower of London.
5. An Ordinance to the Treasurers of Wars.
6. An Order for One Thousand Pounds for the maimed
Soldiers. (Here enter it.)
Agreed to.
7. An Order for Mr. Myles Corbett to execute the
Register's Place in the Chancery, in the Name of himself and Mr. Goodwin.
Ly. Jermyn's Petition.
Ordered, That the Lady Jermin's Petition shall
be read To-morrow Morning.
The Answer returned was:
Answer to the H. C.
That this House agrees to the Order concerning
Captain Davies and Captain Barrington, and to the
Order concerning the maimed Soldiers: To all the rest,
their Lordships will send an Answer by Messengers of
their (fn. *) own.
Impeachments against the Aldermen.
Ordered, That the Impeachments against the Aldermen of London shall be read To-morrow Morning.
Order for Money for Capt. Davies and Capt. Barrington.
"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled
in Parliament, That Captain Davis and Captain
Barrington (Two Captains that lately came out of
Munster along with the Commissioners) shall have the
Sums of Thirty Pounds apiece bestowed upon them,
and that the said several Sums of Thirty Pounds be
charged upon Habberdashr's Hall; and that the
Committee of Lords and Commons for Advance of
Monies at Habberdash'rs Hall do forthwith pay the
said several Sums of Thirty Pounds to the said Captain Davies and Captain Barrington accordingly."
Order for 1000l. for maimed Soldiers.
"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the One Thousand Pounds
advanced for the Service of Reading, by the Committee of Woods, upon Order of both Houses of
Parliament, of the 29th of March, 1645, and by
that Order charged on the Excise, to be reimbursed
to the Committee of Woods in its Course, be paid,
by the Committee of Excise, to Thomas Wheeler, the
said Committee's Treasurer, in Lieu of One Thousand Pounds paid by the said Thomas Wheeler, by
Order of both Houses of Parliament, dated 7 Julii,
1646, for the better carrying on of the Siege at Worcester; and the said Thomas Wheeler is hereby ordered to pay over the same to John Pococke, Wm.
Greenhill, Richard Hutchinson, and John Randall,
Treasurers for the wounded and maimed Soldiers,
for Payment of the Apothecaries, Physicians, and
Chirurgeons, for the said maimed Soldiers: And the
Acquittance of the Treasurers aforesaid for the
maimed Soldiers, or any Two of them, shall be a
sufficient Warrant and Discharge for the said Thomas
Wheeler's Payment thereof; and his Acquittance
shall be a sufficient Discharge to the Commissioners
for their Payment of the same to him."
Order for a Protection for Capt. Draper.
Upon reading the Petition of Captain Mathew
Draper, a Copy of a Paper under the Earl of Essex's
Hand avowing him to have been under his Command,
and a Certificate of the Committee of the Accompts of
the whole Kingdom, restifying, "That there is due
unto the Petitioner, for Service done to the State,
Six Hundred Fourscore and odd Pounds:"
It is Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the said Captain Draper shall have the Privilege of this House, until the Pleasure of the House
be signified to the contrary; provided that the Petitioner give Satisfaction to his several Creditors out of
his Arrears as they shall be paid unto him: And hereof all whom it doth or may concern are to take Notice,
and yield their Obedience hereunto, as they will answer the contrary unto this House.
Gifford to be instituted to Elsfield.
Ordered, &c. That Dr. Bennett give Institution
and Induction unto Robert Gifford Batchelor in Divinity,
