Upon reading the Petition of John Robinson Clerk;
desiring, "he may be put into a Condition freely to
exercise his Function, that so he may be capable of
some Living; he having taken the Covenant:"
It is Ordered, To be sent to the House of Commons, for their Concurrence.
Turner's Ordinance, to be a Baron of the Exchequer.
An Ordinance was presented to the House, for making
Mr. Serjeant Turner One of the Barons of the Court of
Exchequer, in the Place of Mr. Baron Atkins; which
was read Once, and respited.
Ordinance to unite the Militia of London, Westm. &c.
The Ordinance for adding the Militia of Westm.
Southwarke, and The Mineries, to the Militia of London,
was read the Third Time, and passed; and ordered to
be sent to the House of Commons for their Concurrence.
Salter's Petition.
Upon reading the Petition of Sarah Salter; desiring,
to have Sixty Pounds paid her out of Sir Thomas Culpepper's Estate:"
It is Ordered, To be communicated to the House
of Commons, with a Desire that some Course may be
taken for her Relief.
Message to the H. C. with it; -for a Conference about repealing Gen. Skippon's Ordinance to raise Men;-and with Robinson's Petition.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by
Dr. Aylett and Mr. Eltonheade:
To desire a present Conference, if it may stand with
their Conveniency, in the Painted Chamber, concerning
the Matter of the Votes for recalling the Powers formerly given to Major General Skippon, for inlisting of
Forces.
2. To deliver to them the Petition of Sarah Salter,
with Recommendations.
3. To deliver to them the Petition of John Robinson.
Maj. Huntington's Narrative:
Next, the House was adjourned into a Committee
during Pleasure, to read again the Narrative of Major
Huntington.
The House was resumed.
Committee to prepare Heads for a Conference about it:
And these Lords following were appointed to draw
up some Observations upon the said Narrative, to be
delivered at a Conference with the House of Commons;
and the said Committee to have Power to employ such
Persons as they shall think fit, (fn. *) in the Search of Precedents, and to send for what Witnesses they shall think
necessary to be examined in this Business:

Ordered, That Major Huntington shall attend this
Committee, from Time to Time, so often as they shall
have Occasion to use him; and that he shall have the
Protection of this House, to come and go with Liberty
of his Person.
Message from the H. C. for a Day of Humiliation, on account of the Weather;-and with Orders.
A Message was brought from the House of Commons,
by Mr. Dove; who brought divers Particulars, wherein they desire their Lordships Concurrence:
1. To desire that Thursday next may be kept a Day
of Humiliation, for this unseasonable Weather.
2. An Order for One Hundred and Seventy-five
Pounds to be paid to Mrs. Pygott, by Five Pounds a
Week, out of Habberdashers Hall.
3. An Order for One Hundred Marks for Colonel
Devereux.
4. An Order for Five Pounds a Week to Colonel
Nic. Devereux.
5. An Order for Four Thousand Pounds for Reduced
Officers, late under the Command of the Lord Fairfax,
deceased.
6. An Order for Three Thousand Five Hundred
Twenty-six Pounds, Twelve Shillings, to the Reduced
Officers of the late Lord Fairfax.
7. An Order, authorizing Adam Eyre and others to
receive several Sums of Money to the Use of the Reduced Officers under the Command of the late Lord
Fairfax.
8. An Order concerning the Payment of Interest
of Three Thousand Five Hundred and Twenty-six
Pounds, Twelve Shillings, to Reduced Officers of the
late Lord Fairfax.
9. An Order for Payment of Three Thousand Pounds
to the Soldiers of Seacroft, of the late Lord Fairfax.
10. An Addition of Two Companies in Dover
Castle.
11. An Order for a Troop of Horse and a Company of Foot to be added to the Companies in Dover.
12. An Order that the Forces in Dover Castle be
commanded by the Militia of the County of Kent, and
to consider how those Forces may be made Use of for
the Service of that County.

as a Day of Humiliation: To all the rest, this House
will send an Answer by Messengers of their own.
Message to the H. C. with the Letters, &c. from the Prince to the City, &c.
A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by
Doctor Aylett and Mr. Eltonheade:
To communicate to them the Originals of the Letters
and Declaration which the Prince sent to the City of
London, and the Merchant Adventurers; and to desire,
that when they have done with them, that they may be
returned to this House, for further Use to be made of
them by this House.
