Committee to settle the Government.
Because the Messengers sent Yesterday with a Message to the House of Commons have not yet been admitted in:
It is Ordered, They shall desire the Committee may
meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine of the Clock.
Speaker to wait on The States Ambassadors.
Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament assembled,
That the Earl of Denbigh is appointed, by this House,
to go to the Ambassadors from The States Generall of
The United Provinces, "To congratulate their safe Arrival, and to excuse their Lordships not sending sooner,
which the great Alterations happening in this Kingdom may give sufficient Occasion for.
"What was represented by them in relation to His
late Majesty, God having disposed of Him, it will now
be unreasonable to give any further Answer. But
what may concern the Continuance and Increase of
all fair Correspondence between this Kingdom and
The States Generall of the United Provinces, their
Lordships will most readily embrace all Occasions that
may further the Union of this Kingdom and that
State in a perpetual Tie of common Interest and Confidence."
