Upon Question, the Serjeant to leave a Note in Writing, at Mr. Mountagew his House, or Lodging, to let him know, that, if he will, on this Day sevennight, attend the grand Committee for Religion, to answer to such Matters, as he shall be there charged with, he shall be heard. -

Articles against Burgesse.

2ly, A Petition, and Articles, against . . Burgesse, Vicar of Witney, in Oxfordshyre. - Profaneness in catechizing, and preaching, by Way of Paraphrase. The Particulars in Writing, which read by Mr. Pymme.

Upon Question,.. Burgesse to be presently sent for by the Serjeant, as a Delinquent, to be, at the furthest, upon Saturday next, to attend the Committee for Religion, there to answer the Misdemeanors, wherewith he is charged, both in his catechizing, and paraphrasing.

Popish School-masters.

Upon Question, some Members of this House to be sent, to know of my Lord of Canterbury, what had been done by the Bishops, concerning Popish Schoolmasters, upon his Majesty's Reference thereof at Oxford.

Mr. Pymme, Sir D. Digges, Sir Nath. Rich, Sir Ben. Rudyard, to do this.

Commissions for Loans.

Upon Question, the Clerk of the Crown to bring, and leave with the Clerk of this House, the Instructions, and Oath, which accompanied the Commissions for Loans.

Bill concerning Subscription, - To-morrow in the Afternoon, in the former Place: And all, that will come, to have Voice.

Privilege.

Sir Symeon Steward informeth the House, that he hath been lately served with Process, at Mr. Attorney his Suit, ad audiendum judicium: Desireth Liberty, for himself, and Mr. Mason, a Member of this House, to have Liberty for Five Days, to prepare for the Hearing; he being bound by Recognizance in 500 l. not to claim the Privilege of Parliament, or any other Privilege, to put off the Hearing.

Upon Question, Sir Simeon Steward, notwithstanding the Recognizance by him entered into, not to claim the Privilege of Parliament, yet ought to have it, if he desire it.

House attends the King.

Mr. Maxwell sent by the King for the Speaker, and the whole House, to come up to the Higher House : Which presently done accordingly.

Upon Question, a select Committee to be named, of some Lawyers, and others of the House, for the present Framing of a Bill, therein expressing the Substance of the Statutes of Magna Charta, and the other Statutes, and of the Resolutions made in this House, concerning the Liberty of the Subjects, in their Persons and Estates, without One Negative.

Sir Ch. Caesar and Sir Robert Rich bring from the Lords a Bill, intituled, An Act for the Enabling of the Right honourable . . . . -
