states that half the chapter, the faction that opposed him, was descended from Ieuan

Said to occ. as archdcn. of Cardigan 1283 (Menevia Sacra p. 221, citing Browne
Willis MS Collect.) Perhaps to be identified with Owen son of Griffith, son of
Madoc, parson of 'Bankbiry', nor called archdcn., who had protection 24 May
1282 (CPR 1281-92 p. 23) and 8 Sept. 1282 (ibid. p. 35).
