First certain occ. as can. 1104/5 (WD 4 fo. 19/23r-v, pd. in Rep. p. 61b), but perhaps to be identified with Ralph the can., who held Rugmere of cans.' demesne in 1086 (Domesday Book 1 fo. 127b). Perhaps to be identified also with Raulf son of Algot, who occ. early twelfth cent. (Liber Vitae Dunelm.: Facsimile, ed. A. H. William son of Ralph

Occ. in cats. between Ralph son of Algod and Ralph de Chiltone, 'Willelmus filius eius', i.e. son of Ralph son of Algod. Perhaps to be identified with William son of Ralph who occ., not as can., [Apr. 1138 × c. 1152] (WD 4 fo. 29/33v, pd. in Rep. p. 64a). (fn. 1)

Ralph de Chiltone (fn. 2)

Occ. in cats. between John Witing and William de Rising, 'Einchius Romanus'. 'Einchius' otherwise unknown, and cats. must be in error for 'Cinthius'. IX nos. 227, 249, 333, 340, 4794), and with Cinthius de Sancto Eustachio, papal subdeacon and chapl., who occ. June 1238 (cart. of Binham: B.M., Cotton MS. Claud.
