Upon reading the Petition of Major Peregrin Banastre,

Arrears, and his Arrears paid him as soon as conveniently may be.

Ordered, upon the Petition of Lieutenant George

Col. Kerle's Ordinance.
Ordered, That the Ordinance for making Colonel
Kirle Governor of Monmouth shall be taken into Consideration To-morrow Morning.
Ordinance for Church Government, and to keep scandalous Persons from the Sacrament.
Next, the House was adjourned into a Committee
during Pleasure, to take into Consideration the Ordinance last brought up from the House of Commons,
concerning Church Government.
And after a long Debate;
The House was resumed; and the 14th Article in the
said Ordinance was read.
And the Question being put, "Whether that the
Question, That this Article concerning the
Commissioners shall be now put?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Next, this Question was put, "Whether to agree
to this Fourteenth Article, concerning Commissioners to enquire of scandalous Offences
presented to them, not within any Ordinance
of Parliament?"
And it was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Memorandum, That, before the putting this Question, these Lords following desired Leave of the House
to enter their Protestations, if the Question was carried
against them; and accordingly they had Leave.

Protest against an Article of the Ordinance for Church Government.
"Whereas this Day a Vote was passed this House,

of Parliament? We, whose Names are underwritten,
do make this our Protestation against that Vote, conceiving it to be against that solemn League and Covenant which we have taken.
