Jones's Petition.
Upon reading the Petition of Howell Jones: It is
Ordered, To be referred to the Committee of Sequestrations, to give such Relief to the Petitioner as
they think fit.
Savery, a Protection.
Ordered, That Mr. Christopher Savery shall have
the Protection of this House for his Person, for so
much as this State owes him for his Service in the
Public; and the Time to be for Six Months.
Report of the Conference on the Propositions for a Peace;
The Speaker reported the Effect of the Conference
Yesterday with the House of Commons.
"1. Concerning the Propositions:
"They do adhere to their former Vote for continuing the Earl of Darby, John Lord Pawlett, Sir John
Byron, Sir John Straingwayes, and John Bodvile, to
the Fifteenth Proposition, and First Qualification, as
it went from them.
"They do agree to the Lords, for the adding of
George Carterett now called Sir George Carterett, Sir
Charles Dallison Knight, Sir Edward Nicolas, John
Ashburnham Esquire, and Sir Edward Herbert His
Majesty's Attorney General, to the First Qualification; but not unto Richard Lane Esquire, now called
Sir Richard Lane.
" (fn. *) They do adhere to their former Vote, for continuing the Lord Brudnell, Sir Francis Howard, and
Wm. Shelden of Beely, in the Second Qualification of
the Fifteenth Proposition, as they went from them.
"They do agree with the Lords, for the adding of
the Earl of Worcester to the Second Qualification of
the Fifteenth Proposition.
"They do agree with the Lords, that the Fifth
Qualification, concerning the Judges, &c. in the Fifteenth Proposition, (fn. †) be totally omitted; and, instead thereof, the other sent from the Lords inserted.
"They agree with the Lords, that, in the last
Branch in the Eleventh Qualification of the Fifteenth Proposition, these Words ["on the 25th Day
of March"] to be made ["the First of May next"]
for Persons to come in.
"They agree with the Lords, that the Twelfth Qualification of the Fifteenth Proposition be wholly omitted, in regard it is inserted among the Propositions
concerning Monies.
"And concerning One of the Votes sent to them concerning the Militia of London, they have thought fit
to make these Alterations:
"Leave out, beginning in the First Line with the
Word ["that"] to the Word ["that"] in
the Fourth Line.
"Insert in the Eighth Line, between the Word
["City"] and the Word ["for"] ["and the
Liberties thereof"].
"Put out, in the same Line, the Word ["thereof"], and insert instead thereof ["of the
same."]
"Insert in the Eleventh Line, between the Word
["the"] and the Word ["making"], ["Tenth
of January, 1641"].
"Leave out from the Word ["Proposition"] in
the Twelfth Line, to the Word ["that"] in
the Eighteenth Line.
"They desire to receive an Answer from their Lordships to the Propositions sent up concerning the City
of London.
and concerning Instructions for the Committee going into the West.
"The next Part of the Conference was; concerning
the Instructions to be given to Committees that are to
go into the West, they agree to the Alterations sent
down; except to the Proviso, (videlicet,)
"["That no Power hereby granted or intended shall
extend to the lessening any Power to the Lord Lieutenant of the said County"]; and after, add these,
"["That all who are of the Committee of the Western Association, and shall not at any Time be within
the said Counties, shall be of the said Committee"].
Resolved, upon the Question, That this House adheres to their former Resolutions concerning the aforesaid Proviso.
To the latter Clause, this House adds these Words
to it, (videlicet,) ["are Members of either House of
Parliament, and"].
Ordered, To have a Conference with the House
of Commons To-morrow Morning, concerning the Instructions for the Committee that are to go into the
West.

Ordered, That the Cause between Ingle and Cornwallis shall be further heard at this Bar, on Friday
come Sevennight, being the 27th of Instant March.
