The Earl of Warwicke reported these Particulars from
the Committee for the Admiralty and Cinque Ports;
which were read:
Ordinances concerning Captives in Barbary.
1. An Ordinance concerning Captives in Barbary.
Approved of, and to be sent to the House of Commons.
Ordinance for Mr. Peters's Indemnity.
2. An Ordinance for the Indemnity of Mr. Thomas
Peters, for his good Service done to the Parliament,
being resident at Cadiz.

Upon hearing the Counsel of Didier Faucaut, and the
Counsel of Rednes and Gardner, &c.: It is Ordered,
That it is referred to Mr. Justice Reeves, Mr. Justice
Pheasant, and Mr. Baron Atkins, or any Two of them, to
call the said Parties before them, and make some
Agreement among (fn. *) them if they can, that so both
Parties may have some some Satisfaction.
E. of Northton to be admitted within the Lines to take the Covenant.
The Petition of James Earl of North'ton was read;
shewing, "That he, having cast himself wholly on the
Mercy of the Parliament, and taken the Negative
Oath, is desirous to give all further Satisfaction of
his real Intentions to approve himself in all his future
Actions a faithful Servant to the Parliament: Therefore humbly prays their Lordships will be pleased to
admit him into the Line of Communication, to take
the National Covenant."
Ordered, That this House gives Leave to the Earl
of North'ton to come within the Line of Communication, to take the Covenant; and the Earl of Kent and
the Earl of Bolingbrooke are appointed to tender him the
National Covenant, when he comes.
Dutchess of Richmond desires a Pass, to come into the Parliament Quarters.
Upon the Earl of Denbigh's acquainting this House
of a Letter from the Dutchess of Richmond, from
Wallingford, desiring a Pass, to come into the Parliament's Quarters.
It is Ordered, That the Business formerly sent to
the House of Commons, for a Pass for her, shall be renewed.
Preachers at the Fast thanked.
Ordered, That Mr. Ford and Mr. Esthorp shall have
Thanks returned them, for their Sermons Yesterday in
the Abbey Church; and to desire to print their Sermons.
Mrs. Spencer to comp. and for her Husband's Delinquancy.
Upon reading the Petition of Mary Wife of Ric'd
Spencer; desiring, "That she may be permitted to compound for the Delinquency of her Husband, he being restrained within the King's Garrison."
It is Ordered, That this House thinks it fit to give
her Leave to compound for her Husband, as is desired;
and the Concurrence of the House of Commons to be
desired herein.

To desire their Concurrence in the Ordinance concerning Doctor Bastwicke.
2. To deliver the Petition of Mrs. Spencer; and let
them know, that this House thinks it fit to give her
Leave to compound for her Husband's Delinquency,
and desire their Concurrence therein.

Upon reading the Certificate of Colonel Venn; declaring, "That there are many Arrears due unto Major
Sanders, for his Service to the State."
It is Ordered, That he shall have the Protection of
this House, to free him from Arrests, until he receive
his Arrears from the State.
