Gen. Porter and Capt. Sackvile to keep the Peace, and appear before this House.

The House was informed, "That there hath lately been some falling out between Major General Porter and Captain Sackvile, upon Words spoken by the said Captain Sackwill against some Lords of Parliament."

Hereupon it is Ordered, for the preventing of further Mischief, That the Speaker of this House shall lay Commands upon them, not to do any Thing to the Breach of the Peace; and that they appear before this House on Monday Morning.

Order for an Allowance for the Princess Henrietta.

The Order concerning the King's Daughter was read: And it is Ordered, That the Committee for the King's Children (fn. *) do consider of, and make an Allowance to, the Lady Henrietta, for her Maintenance for One Month; and that, in the mean Time, the said Committee do send to the Lady Dalkith, to know whether she hath sent to the King, according to the Articles of the Surrender of Exeter, to know how she shall be disposed of.

Capt. Maissy, Col. Wilson, and Estwick, examined about opening the Scots Commissioners Letters.

This Day Captain Maissey and Colonel Wilson and Mr. Estwicke were examined, concerning the Opening of the Letters which were sent to (fn. †) the Scotch Army by the Pass of the Scotch Commissioners.

And it is Ordered, That Captain Maissey shall stand committted to The Fleete, during the Pleasure of this House, for opening of the Letters of the Scotch Commissioners, and for not observing his Order and Directions.

Bishop of Durham's Order.

An Addition to the Order concerning the Bishop of Duresme, was read, and approved of; and Ordered to be sent to the House of Commons, for their Concurrence.

Scroop's Ordinance.

The Ordinance concerning Mr. Scroope's Delinquency, was read Twice; and Ordered to be committed to a Committee of the whole House, to be considered of on Wednesday Morning next.

Propositions for a Peace.

Ordered, That the Propositions shall be taken into Consideration on Monday Morning, and so from Day to Day till they be perfected.

Message to the H. C. about the Irish Committee;

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Page:

1. To desire their Concurrence, that the Four Lords may be added to the Committee for the Irish Affairs.

and with an Order and Ordinance.

2. To desire Concurrence in the Addition to the Bishop of Duresme' Order.

3. To desire Concurrence in the Ordinance concerning Mr. Astley.

Order for 873£. 7s. 10d. to Col. Jephson, for his Regiment.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That the Committee of Lords and Commons for Advance of Monies sitting at Habberdashers Hall do pay unto Colonel Jeptson the Sum of Eight Hundred Seventy-three Pounds, Seven Shillings, and Ten Pence, to be employed towards the Payment of the Officers of his Regiment and Troopers."

Order for 50£. to Major Mathews.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That the Committee of Lords and Commons for Advance of Monies sitting at Habberdashers Hall do forthwith advance and pay (upon Accompt) unto Major Mathewes the Sum of Fifty Pounds, to be accounted in Part of his Arrears; he having deserved much in the Service of the Parliament, and lies now in great Want, and under many Wounds received in the Parliament's Service."

Order for a Protection for Major Saunders.

"Whereas Major Henry Sanders was a Commander in the First Regiment raised in the City of London for the Defence of the Parliament, and since hath continued in the Service, for which there is due unto him One Thousand One Hundred Pounds, or more; and whereas there is owing to him from Mr. Kirke One of His Majesty's Bed-chamber, and Edward Bradborne (both whose Estates are sequestered), above One Thousand Six Hundred Pounds, as in the Petition of the said Major is alledged: It is Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament assembled, That the said Major Saunders shall have the Protection of this House, for his Person, Horse, and Arms, whereby he may be enabled to do the State further Service, until his said Arrears be paid him, or the Sequestrations taken off the Estates of the said Kirke and Bradbourne; and hereof all such as are concerned are to take Notice, and yield their Obedience accordingly, as they will answer the same at their Perils."

Ordinance for Mr. Bond to be Governor of Portland.

"Be it Ordained, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That Elias Bond Esquire shall be, and is hereby appointed and constituted, Lieutenant of the Isle, and Captain of the Castle, of Portland, in the County of Dorsett; to have and enjoy the said Room and Office, with all Powers, Authorities, Fees, Advantages, Profits, and Emoluments, thereunto of Right belonging or appertaining, as amply as Edward Sydenham Esquire, or any other Lieutenant of the said Island, and Captain of the said Castle, hath heretofore had, used, or enjoyed, for and during the Pleasure of both Houses of Parliament: And it is further Ordered, That Oliver St. John Esquire His Majesty's Solicitor General do prepare a Grant to the said Elias Bond, of the said Room and Office and Premises accordingly; and that the Commissioners of the Great Seal of England do pass the said Grant, so prepared under the said Great Seal, in usual Form; for which this Ordinance, or the Duplicate thereof, shall be a sufficient Warrant."

Order for 30£. to the Messenger from Banbury.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That the Sum of Thirty Pounds be bestowed upon the Messenger that brought the Letter of taking the Castle of Banbury; and that the Committee of Lords and Commons for Advance of Monies at Habberdashers Hall do pay the said Thirty Pounds accordingly."

Sir Fra. Drake Sheriff of Devon, Leave to go out of the County.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That Sir Francis Drake, High Sheriff of the County of Devon, being Colonel of a Regiment of Horse, and having divers other Occasions concerning his Estate, hath hereby Leave given him to go out of that County, notwithstanding his being Sheriff, so often as his Employment, or his own Occasions, shall necessarily require."

Ordinance concerning the Isle of Wight continued.

"The Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled do Declare and Ordain, That the Ordinance bearing Date the 15th Day of July, 1644, concerning the Isle of Wight, in the County of South'ton, shall have Continuance for and during the Space of Six Months from the First Day of May next, and no longer."
