Answer from the H. C.

Sir Edward Leech and Mr. Page return this Answer from the House of Commons:

That they have taken the Debt owing to the Earl of Lyncolne into Consideration; and they will send an Answer to this, and the Order for making the Earl of Warwicke Governor of the Isles of Guernsey and Jersey, by Messengers of their own.

Ridges to deliver the E. of Berks' Goods to L. Howard of Est.

This Day Wm. Ridges was brought to this Bar, as a Delinquent, for not obeying the Order of this House, of the 16 of September, in delivering the Goods of the Lord Howard upon Payment of the Money.

And he declared he was willing to obey it.

It is Ordered, That Ridges repair to the Sequestrators; and, upon the receiving of Twenty-six Pounds, Ten Shillings, he shall deliver the Goods into the Possession of the Lord Howard, according to the Conditions and Manner in a Paper subscribed by Thomas Goodwinge Sequestrator.

Ordinance to abolish Bishops, &c.

Next, the House was adjourned into a Committee of the whole House during Pleasure, to take into Consideration the Ordinance for abolishing of Archbishops and Bishops, &c.

The House being resumed;

The Lords following were appointed to be a Subcommittee, to consider of those Things in it as were debated in the Committee:

Message to the H. C. about the following Particulars.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Doctor Aylett and Doctor Heath:

1. To desire their Concurrence in an Ordinance concerning Mr. Richard Shute.

2. To put them in Mind of Mr. Greenhill's Ordinance.

3. To put them in Mind of Doctor Bastwick's Business.

4. To recommend Doctor Hall's Petition to them.

5. To recommend Mr. Massonat's Petition to them.

Message from the H. C. to expedite the Ordinance to continue the Treasurers at War, &c.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Wm. Armyne:

To put their Lordships in Mind of the Ordinance formerly brought up, for continuing the Treasurers and Committee for the Army: They do find a Necessity for the continuing of it; therefore they desire their Lordships Concurrence in it.

The Answer returned was:

That this House is in Consideration of it, and will return an Answer by Messengers of their own.

Lowin, a Pass to travel.

Ordered, That John Lowin shall have a Pass, to go to Leyden, to study there for Three Years; and to carry with him Twenty Pounds in Money: Provided he do not go to St. Omars and Rome.

Ordinance to continue the Treasurers at War, &c.

Ordered, That the Committee for the Treasurers of the Army shall meet To-morrow Morning, at Nine a Clock.
