Rowe to be instituted to Buckland Monks.
Ordered, That Mr. Doctor Aylett shall give Institution and Induction to Mr. Joseph Rowe to the Rectory
of Buckland Monachorum, in the County of Devon; he
being presented thereunto by Elizæus Crymes the Patron: And to be with a salvo Jure cujuscunque.
Sir J. Pettus's Petition, about his Sequestration.
Upon reading the Petition of Sir John Pettus Knight:
It is Ordered, That it is recommended back again to
the Committee of Lords and Commons for Sequestrations, to be heard there concerning his Sequestration;
and the Earl of Pembrooke and the Lord North are
hereby appointed to signify thus much to the said Committee.
Smart versus Carr.
Ordered, That Carr, who is complained
of by Mr. Smarte for his Contempt to the Orders of
this House, who alledges he is in no Contempt, shall be
heard, by his Counsel, To-morrow Morning.
Ordinance for Sale of Bishops Lands.
Next, the House took into Consideration the perfecting of the Alterations and Amendments in the Ordinance for selling of the Bishops Lands.
And the House named these Four Persons following
to be added to the Contractors; videlicet,
Alderman Vyner.
James Russell.
Colonel Richard Turner.
Wm. Methold.
And the said Ordinance being read, according to the
Alterations and Amendments;
The Question was put, "Whether to pass this
Ordinance for the Sale of the Bishops Lands,
with the Alterations, Amendments, and Provisos, now read?"
And it was Resolved in the Affirmative.
Conference to be had about it.
It is Ordered, To have a Conference with the
House of Commons To-morrow Morning, at Ten
of the Clock, to communicate the Ordinance for the
Sale of the Bishops Lands, with the Alterations,
Amendments, and Provisos; and likewise to deliver to
them a Paper by Way of a Declaration, and desire
their Concurrence therein; (videlicet,)
Declaration concerning it.
"And if it shall so happen that the Sum of Two
Hundred Thousand Pounds, voted to be paid unto
our Brethren of Scotland, shall not otherwise be provided for, then be it hereby Declared, That in case
the Sum of Two Hundred Thousand Pounds shall be
raised by the Sale or Credit of the Lands contained
in this Ordinance, that then the said Sum of Two
Hundred Thousand Pounds shall be employed to the
Satisfaction of our Brethren of Scotland, upon the
Delivery-up into the Hands of the Parliament of England, or such as they shall appoint, all such Garririsons, Towns, and Forts, Ordnance, and Ammunition, belonging to the Kingdom of England, as are or
shall be in their Hands, or in the Hands of any by
their Appointment, upon the Departure of their Army into the Kingdom of Scotland.
"That the Assembly of Divines be provided for
after the Lands of the Archbishop of Canterbury shall
be sold. An Ordinance to be drawn in that Particular
to be fixed upon some other Lands."
Message to the H. C. for this Conference;
A Message is sent to the House of Commons, by
Mr. Page and Doctor Aylett:
To desire a Conference, To-morrow, at Eleven of the
Clock, touching the Ordinance for the Sale of the Bishops Lands.
and for the E. of Rutland to be C. J. in Eyre beyond Trent.
2. To let them know, that, upon the Death of the
Earl of Arundell, their Lordships think it fit to make
the Earl of Rutland Chief Justice in Eyre beyond
Trent, in the Place of the said Earl of Arundell, wherein
their Concurrence is desired.

Ordered, The Cause of the Lady Farmer and
Captain Withypole shall be heard on Wednesday next.
