Evans's Petition, to be restored to the Possession of a Tenement.

Upon reading the Petition of Maurice Evans, of Gunnus, in the County of Cardigan; complaining, "That he is put out of Possession of a Messuage called Pully Breeth, by Force: Therefore desires that the Sheriff may be required to put him into Possession."

And there being no Justices of the Peace, the Earl of Pembrooke is desired (who is Custos Rotulorum of that County) to nominate some Persons to be Justices of the Peace for that County; and then the House will take it into Consideration.

Sir A. Aston, a Pass to go Abroad.

Upon reading the Petition of Sir Arthur Aston; defiring, "That he may have Leave to come into England, or go beyond the Seas."

It is Ordered, That he shall have a Pass, to go beyond the Seas, out of any of the King's Dominions.

Message from the H. C. to continue the Commissioners of the Great Seal.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. Sam. Browne, &c.

That the Time of the Commissioners of the Great Seal of England expires on Thursday next: They desire their Lordships Concurrence, that the same Commissioners may be continued for Ten Days longer after the Expiration of the former Time.

The Answer returned was:

That this House agrees for the Continuance of the Commissioners of the Great Seal for Ten Days after Thursday next.

Clarke and Lloyd, in Error.

Upon hearing the Counsel of Francis Lloid, Defendant in a Writ of Error depending in this House, wherein Clarke is Plaintiff, the said Clarke not attending with his Counsel, though he confessed he had Notice of the Order for hearing the Arguing of the Errors this Day.

The House taking the said Errors into Consideration; the House Ordered, That the said Judgement is hereby confirmed; and that the Record be remitted into the Court of King's Bench, that Execution may be taken out accordingly.

Ordinance concerning the E. L. Co.

The Ordinance concerning the East India Company, was read the Second Time; and it is Ordered, That the Consideration of this Ordinance is referred to these Lords following, to hear all Persons concerned therein, and to send for such Persons as they shall think fit to give them Information:

Their Lordships, or any Seven, to meet To-morrow Three Weeks; and have Power to adjourn themselves from Time to Time, as they shall see Cause.

The Ordinance for taking off the Plymouth Duty, was read, and Agreed to. (Here enter it.)

The Ordinance for Eight Hundred and Fifty Pounds, to be paid to the Officers of Skipton Castle, was read, and Agreed to. (Here enter it.)

The Order of Dispensation to the Sheriff of Mountgomeryshire, to live out of the said County, was read, and Agreed to. (Here enter it.)

Sir P. Killegrew detained from going to the King by the H. C.

Sir Peter Killegrew was called in.

And the Speaker demanded of him a Reason why he is not gone with the Message to the King, according to the Order of both Houses.

And he said, "On Saturday last, as he was taking Horse, there came a Messenger from the House of Commons, to let him know, that the House of Commons had made an Order that (fn. *) he should not go till he had heard from them."

It is Ordered, That this Business rests as it is.

Treasurers at Goldsmiths Hall, Accompts.

The Accompt of the Treasurers at Gouldsmithes Hall, was read, and Ordered to be referred to this Committee following, to examine the said Accompt, and report the same to this House:

Any Three, to meet To-morrow in the Afternoon, at Two a Clock; and to adjourn from Time to Time as they shall think fit.

Gale & al to be attached, for Contempt of an Order about Ld. Cromwel.

This Day Michaell Baker gave the House an Account, That he served the Order of this House upon Gale and Spicer, and others, for the taking off the Attachment from the Lord Cromwell's Money, and paying his Money to him; which is disobeyed."

It is Ordered, That the said Gale and others (except Spicer) shall be attached by the Gentleman Usher attending this House, and brought before this House, to answer his Contempt to the Order of this House.

Message from the H. C. that they have detained Sir P. Killegrew.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Sir Wm. Lewis:

That, upon Occasions, they staid Sir Peter Killegrew, which they would have acquainted their Lordships with on Saturday last; but their Lordships were up: For they intend to add something to his Instructions, which they shall acquaint their Lordships with in convenient Time.

Ordered, That Sir Peter Killegrew shall stay his going to Newcastle until the further Pleasure of the Houses be known.

Hunt, Sheriff of Mountgomery, Leave to reside out of the County.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That Rowland Hunt Esquire, appointed to be High Sheriff of the County of Mountgomery, having a convenient Dwelling-house of his own near the said County, and no fit House therein, shall, notwithstanding his being Sheriff, have Leave to reside out of the said County of Mountgom'y during his Sheriffalty."

Order for 850l. to the Officers of Skipton Castle.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled in Parliament, That the Three Hundred and Fifty Pounds formerly ordered for the Pay of the Officers late before Skipton Castle be made up Eight Hundred and Fifty Pounds; and this Five Hundred Pounds now added be paid in such Manner, and to those Officers, to whom the former Three Hundred and Fifty Pounds was to be paid."

Ordinance for Continuance of the Plymouth Duty.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament, That the Houses do Declare, That the Time of the Continuance of the Tax of One Tenth Part more of the Value of the Custom, over and above the Rates in the Book of Rates, payable by the Merchant for the Preservation of Plymouth, Poole, Lyme, &c. shall be until the Five and Twentieth Day of January Instant, and no longer."

Commissioners for the Great Seal continued.

"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons in Parliament assembled, That the Commissioners for the Great Seal of England shall be continued for Ten Days longer, after Thursday next."

Hampton to be instituted to Woodmanstourne;

Ordered, &c. That Mr. Doctor Aylctt, or his lawful Deputy, are hereby authorized and required, upon Sight of this Order, to give Institution and Induction unto John Hampton Clerk, to the Rectory of Woodmanstourne, in the County of Surrey, void by the Resignation of the late Incumbent, salvo Jure cujuscunque; the said Mr. Hampton taking the National League and Covenant, and producing his Presentation thereunto under the Great Seal of England.

Dalby to Exton;

Ordered, &c. That Mr. Doctor Aylett, or his lawful Deputy, are hereby authorized and required, upon Sight of this Order, to give Institution and Induction unto Edward Dalbye Master of Arts, to the Vicarage of Exton, in the County of Rutland, salvo Jure cujuscunque; the said Mr. Dalby taking the National League and Covenant, and producing his Presentation thereunto under the Hand and Seal of the Right Honourable Julian Countess Dowager of Campden, Patroness.

and Strutt to Falkbourne.

Ordered, &c. That Mr. Doctor Aylett, or his lawful Deputy, are hereby authorized and required, upon Sight of this Order, to give Institution and Induction unto Richard Strutt Clerk, Master of Arts, to the Rectory of Falkbourne, in the County of Essex, void by the Death of Edward Strutt, the late Incumbent, salvo Jure cujuscunque; the said Richard Strutt taking the National League and Covenant, and producing his Presentation thereunto under the Hand and Seal of John White Gentleman, the lawful Patron. A Certificate was brought into this House, according to Order.
