PRAYERS.
Privileged Person.
The Lord Archbishop of Yorke reported the Bill con
cerning the Deliverance of Privileged Persons, etc. fit
to pass, without any Amendment. To be ingrossed.
Roll of Orders.
His Grace also reported, That the Committee for
Privileges perused the Roll of Orders; and, in the
Order concerning the Freedom of the Lords Servants
and Followers from Arrests, made the 28th May, 1624,
they sound some Words misplaced, and some Words fit
to be omitted; videlicet, it is now in the Roll thus.
Lords Servants Privilege.
"1. This Freedom to continue Twenty Days before
and after every Session, in which Time the Lords
may conveniently go Home to their Houses in the
most remote Parts of the Kingdom.
"2. This Freedom to begin with the Date of the
Writ of Summons".
Their Lordships thought fit that it should be thus
amended: videlicet,
"This Freedom to begin from the Date of the Writ
of Summons, in the Beginning of every Parliament;
and to continue Twenty Days before and after every
Session of Parliament".
Which being read and considered of, the House Ordered the same to be amended accordingly in the Roll
and in the Book.
Officer Fees to be examined.
It is this Day Ordered, That the Lords Sub-committees for Privileges shall examine the Fees of all
the Officers of the House, and report the same to the
House.
Crokey versus Smith.
The Petition of Berjamyn Crokey, concerning a Gram
mar School in Wootton, wherein he complameth of John
Smith, is referred to the Committee for Petitions, to be
heard by Counsel on both Sides, on Thursday next, post
meridiem And the said Committee are to report their
Opinions to the House; and the Proceeding in the
Star chamber, by the said John Smith and others, is
stayed in the mean Time; and His Majesty's Writ of
Habeas corpus is granted, to bring the said Crokey on the
same Day, videlicet, 29 Jan. before the said Committee,
et de die in diem, quousque, etc.
E. Sussexs Privilege Ten pest discharged.
Richard Tempest, Servant to the Earl of Sussex, and
Prisoner in Newgate upon an Execution, was this Day
brought to the Bar, and the Return of the Habeas corpu´s
etc. being read, it appeared, that he was arrested on
the Eighth Day of July last, which was within the
Time of Privilege of Parliament; wheresore their Lord
ships Ordered the said Richard Tempest to be set at
Liberty.
Message from H. C. for Conference touching a Petition for a Fast.
Message from the Commons, by Mr. Secretary Cooke
and others:
The Commons desire a Conference, touching a Peti
tion to be delivered unto His Majesty for a Religious
Fast.
Answered, The Lords have appointed a Meeting of
both Houses in the Painted Chamber, presently.
Whereupon the House was adjourned during Pleasure.
Report from the Conference.
The Lords being returned from the Conference, and
the House resumed, the Lord Keeper reported, That
the Commons delivered unto them a Petition to be exhibited unto His Majesty for a General Fast, desiring their
Lordships to join therein.
The Petition being read and approved of, and these
Words ["Lords Spiritual and Temporal and"] being
inserted, the same was read again, and the Lords did
generally agree to present the same unto His Majesty.
Lords appointed to attend the King.
And these Lords, videlicet, the Lord Treasurer, Lord
President, Lord Privy Seal, Lord Great Chamberlain,
and the Lord Steward, were appointed to attend His
Majesty; and to know at what Time His Majesty will
be pleased to receive the said Petition.
The House being again adjourned ad libitum, their
Lordships returned again into the Painted Chamber,
and signified all this unto the Commons (who attended
in the Painted Chamber); and delivered back the Petition to be by them ingrossed.
The Kings Answer.
When their Lordships returned, the House being resumed, the Lord Treasurer and the other Lords brought
Answer, That His Majesty hath appointed to receive this
Petition To-morrow, at Two in the Afternoon, at Whitehall, and that it be presented unto Him by such a Number of both Houses as they please.

Whereupon the Lords Agreed upon a Committee of
