PRAYERS.

E. of Newport versus Faucet.

Sir Ralph Freeman was sworn, and examined, in the Cause of the Earl of Newport against James Faucet; and having delivered his Testimony in the Presence of the said Faucett, they were commanded to withdraw; and the House did hereupon Order, That all the Witnesses sworn and examined in this Cause shall put in Writing their Depositions, and deliver them into this House on Thursday Morning next; in the mean Time, the said Mr. Faucett to remain upon Security to the Serjeant attending this House, for his Appearance.

Richard Butler and Michaell Dormer were sworn as Witnesses in the Cause of the Earl of Strafford and Sir George Ratcliffe; and afterwards received an Injunction for Secrecy, until Publication of Witnesses, or Leave from this House.

E. of Newport versus Faucet.

Mr. Wallis was sworn, and examined, in the Cause of the Earl of Newport contra Faucet; and it was Ordered, That he shall likewise put in his Depositions into this House, concerning this Business, in Writing, upon Thursday Morning next; and to be present here then.

Witnesses sent for out of Ireland, in the Cause of the E. of Strafford.

Ordered, That the Lord Viscount Rannelawgh, the Lord Dillon of Kilkenny West, and Sir Adam Loftus, Knight, Vice-Treasurer of Ireland, shall be sent for into Ireland, to appear Personally here, to be examined in the Causes of the Earl of Strafford, Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, and Sir George Ratcliffe, Knight; and further Ordered, That the Earl Marshal and Lord Chamberlain do acquaint His Majesty therewith, and His Pleasure known therein by their Lordships, before this Order be delivered; because the Witnesses in Ireland are Persons of eminent Places, and great Trust under His Majesty, in that Kingdom.

Cessation of Arms approved of.

The Earl of Bristoll acquainted the House, That the Lords Commissioners that treat with the Scottish Commissioners have in Proposition an Adition to the Cessation of Arms, which he particularly declared to the House; and thereupon this House did Order the Approbation of the said Proposition; and that the said Lords Commissioners should proceed therein, and acquaint the House further in it.

Mr. Longuevile versus E. of Kent, touching the Baronies of Ruthin and Hastings.

A Motion being made touching the Baronies of Hastings and Ruthin, and the House being put into a Commitee during Pleasure; their Lordships took into Consideration, whether the Judges Opinions shall be heard publicly concerning the Cause for the Titles of the Baronies of Hastings and Ruthin; and, after Debate, the House was resumed; and it was put to the Question, and Resolved by the major Part, and Ordered by the House, That the Judges Opinions be heard severally and publicly in this House, concerning the Baronies of Hastings and Ruthin; and they shall have Liberty to send for the Precedents and Records urged by the Counsel, if they please.

King's Counsel to be heard in Mr. Longuevile's Cause.

Ordered by the House, That, upon Friday next come Sevennight, Mr. Attorney General shall argue here in Court, publicly, the King's Claim to the Title of the Baronies of Hastings and Ruthin; and the Counsel of Lord Grey, and Charles Longevile, Esquire, to be present at the Bar.

Sir Richard Wiseman's Cause.

After this, the Sentence against Sir Richard Wiseman, in the Star Chamber, was read openly in the House; and thereupon it was Ordered, That the original Draught of the said Sentence, and the Bill, Answers, Depositions, Examinations, Informations, and all private Notes taken at the Time of the Sentence, likewise all Papers whatsoever that do any way concern the Proceedings in the aforesaid Cause, which he hath in his Possession, or can give Notice of to others, be forthwith brought in to this House; and for true and real Performance hereof, Jo. Arthur, Deputy Register in the Court of Star Chamber, took his Oath in open Court; and likewise to make true Answer to all such Questions as he shall be asked by the Lords Committees appointed for the examining of the said Business.

Rate upon Wines.

It was signified to the House, That last Year certain Lords, according to the Statute, did set a Rate upon Wines; but their Lordships finding now, by the Complaint of Merchants, that the Prices of Wines in Foreign Parts are much raised and enhanced since last Year, therefore it was desired, that the House would take it into Consideration, and give their Advice, whether this Year's Wines shall be prized or no. Hereupon this House did Order, That this Matter shall be debated in this House upon Friday Morning next. In the mean Time, the Merchants and Vintners are to have Notice to attend this House at the same Time.

L. Audley versus L. Cottington.

Richard Mosely was sworn in Court, in the Cause depending between the Lord Awdly and Lord Cottington.
