Umsrevile committed for forging Lord Awdley's Protection, and Brandt discharged.
This Day Wm. Umfrevile was brought to the Bar, for
counterfeiting the Hand and Seal of the Lord Awdley,
in a Protection, and (fn. *) selling it to Marcus Brandt, for Six
Pounds: Hereupon it was Ordered, The said Umfrevile having confessed the Fact, that he shall be committed to The Fleet, there to remain until he make his
humble Submission to this House in general, and to the
said Lord Awdley in particular; and that the said Brandt
doth stand right in the Opinion of this House, and freed
from any Blame in this Particular, having sustained
much Wrong from the said Umfrevile; and Brandt to
have his Recognizance of Five Hundred Pounds for his
Forth-coming to be vacated and discharged.

Ld. Roche's Petition versus Earl of Strafford.
Ordered, That a Petition of the Lord Roches,
against the Earl of Strafford, be referred to the Committee appointed for Sir Peire Crosebie's Cause.
Ld. Keeper Littleton introduced.
This Day the Lord Keeper Littleton, Baron of
Mounslowe, was introducted, between the Lord Willoughby
de Earsby, and the Lord Grey de Warke, being all in
their Robes; and the Lord Keeper carrying the Great
Seal in his Arms, the Gentleman Usher with his Black
Rod, Garter King of Arms, the Lord Great Chamberlain with his White Staff, and the Earl Marshal going
before him, came to the Wool-sack, where Garter delivered him his Patent of Creation and Writ of Summons;
and then his Lordship, with low Obeisance, kneeled
down, and laid them upon the Chair of State; and afterwards (fn. †) they were delivered to the Clerk of the Parliament, who carried them to his Table, and read the
Writ of Summons, dated 19 die Februarii, 16° Caroli
Regis; which being done, he was brought and placed
upon the Barons Form, according to his Creation, and
afterwards to his Place upon the Earls Bench, appointed
him by the Statute.
