Bill against Pirates.
Ordered, That the Committee for the Bill against
Pirates do sit on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon, at Two
a Clock.
Pluralities and Non residence.
Ordered, That the Committee for the Bill against
Pluralities do meet on Wednesday next, in the Afternoon.
Doctor Scott, Dean of York's Petition.
Upon reading the Petition of Doctor Scott, Dean of
Yorke, it is Ordered, That a Commission, under the
Great Seal of England, shall be directed unto Two such
Justices of the Peace for the County of Yorke as the
Lord Keeper shall direct; who are, by virtue of this
Order, to examine upon Oath such Witnesses as shall
be produced by the said Doctor Scott and Christopher
Scott, Plaintiffs in a Cause depending in this House;
and likewise to examine such Witnesses as shall be produced by Ralph Cooke, Defendant in the said Cause;
and that both Parties are to exhibit their Interrogatories unto the said Commissioners; and they are hereby
required to give a Dispatch unto the Business, and to
return their Commission and Depositions unto the Lords
in Parliament, with all convenient Speed.
Colonel Hill to send the Soldiers at St. Katherine's abroad.
Upon Information this Day given unto the House,
"That Colonel Hill, an Englishman, was ready to
transport unto Foreign Parts those Irish and others at
St. Katherine's, mentioned in an Order of this House
dated the 17th of this Instant November, and to give
such Security as their Lordships should direct, that
they shall not be conveyed into Ireland, according to
the said Order;" it is thought fit, and so Ordered,
That the said Colonel Hill, and his Officers shall have
full Power (by virtue of this Order) to take into Pay
the said Irish and others at St. Catherine's, mentioned in
the aforesaid Order, he giving good and sufficient Security unto the King, before Sir Robert Rich, Knight,
One of the Masters of the Chancery, after the Rate of
Five Hundred Pounds for One Hundred Men, and so
proportionably, that the said Persons shall be forthwith
sent, by him or his Officers, into Foreign Parts; and
that they shall not be conveyed into Ireland, as hath
been formerly expressed in the said Order of the 17th
of this Instant November.

The Lord Keeper was commanded, in the Name of
this House, to let the Lord Howard of Estcrick know,
That this House doth acknowledge that his Lordship
hath very carefully and faithfully discharged the Trust
that this House reposed in him in his Employment in
Scotland, as a Committee for this House; for which
the House gives his Lordship Thanks; and their Lordships will be ready, upon all Occasions for his Good, to
recommend him to the King.
Serjeant Fynch and Serjeant Glanvile reported, That
they have delivered the Bill to the House of Commons,
for securing the Persons of Recusants.
Committee for Gunpowder.
Ordered, That the Committee concerning Gunpowder shall meet on Tuesday next, in the Afternoon,
at Two a Clock.
E. of River's Privilege.
Stevens arrested.
Upon Complaint made, "That Robert Stevens, a
menial Servant of the Earl of Rivers, is arrested, at
the Suit of one George Benion, contrary to the Privilege of Parliament, and detained a Prisoner in Ludgate;" it is Ordered, That the said Robert Stevens
shall be forthwith freed and discharged from the said
Imprisonment; and the Parties that arrested him to be
sent for, to appear before this House, to answer the
same.
Benyon for Scandal against the Peers.
Upon reading of a Paper this Day, containing some
scandalous Words and Speeches, which one George Bynion should speak of this House and the Members, and
against the Proceeding of this House, which Paper was
only subscribed by Robert Stevens; therefore it is Ordered, (fn. *) That the said Stevens do make Affidavit of
those which were read this Day in the Paper, which are
supposed to be spoken by George Bynion, and present
the said Affidavit to this House on Friday next; and
then this House will give such further Order therein as
shall be agreeable to Justice.
