Newman, convicted of Blasphemy at Norwich, to be bailed.
Upon Consideration of the Certificate of divers
Knights, Gentlemen, and Ministers, of the County of
Norff. concerning Will. Newman, who was indicted the
last Assizes for that County for Blasphemy:
It is Ordered, by the Lords in Parliament assembled,
That the said Wm. Newman shall be bailed, upon
sufficient Bail to appear the next Assizes at Norwich;
and then this House leaves the Trial to go on according
to Law.

Ordered, That the Earl of Sarum, Earl of Suffolke, Lord Howard, and Lord Hunsdon, are appointed
to examine the Witnesses of Mrs. Thomas, being now in
Town, and have been long, upon great Expences; and
that Mr. Deacon and others concerned therein are to have
Notice of the said Examinations, that so they may crossexamine them if they think it fit.
Lisle to proceed about the Impost-money due to the Peers, &c.
Upon reading the Petition of Mary Leachland, the
Relict and Executrix of Wm. Lechland Esquire, late Purveyor of His Majesty's Cellar:
It is Ordered, That Mr. Lilse shall go on to making
his Proofs good, concerning the Impost-money due to
the Peers of this Realm.

and Induction to John Arwaker Clerk, to the Vicarage
of Baddow Parva, in the County of Essex; the said
Mr. Arwaker producing his Presentation under the Hand
and Seal of Henry Penning Esquire, the Patron: This to

Upon reading the Petition of the Inhabitants of Barton

An Ordinance was brought in, for making Mr. Daniell Evance Minister of Calborne, in the Isle of Wight,

Mr. Stephen Sedgwicke Minister of the Rectory of Tingwicke, in the County of Bucks, and Agreed to.
Message from the H. C. about Propositions from the City, for their lending 200,000£. for Ireland; and about the following Particulars.
A Message was (fn. *) brought from the House of Commons, by Denzell Holles Esquire; who brought up divers Papers, wherein they desired their Lordships Concurrence:
1. That the House of Commons have received some
Propositions from the City of London to the (fn. †) Proposition
made to them by the Committees of both Houses, for
the borrowing of Two Hundred Thousand Pounds, for
the Service of England and Ireland; upon which they
have made some Votes, wherein their Lordships Concurrence is desired.
2. Remedies for removing some Obstructions in Church
Government.
3. Names of some Ministers to be added as Tryers
in some Classes in the Province of London.
4. To answer an Objection made by the Contractors
for the Sale of the Bishops Lands, concerning Chapels
belonging to Bishops Palaces.
5. An Allowance to the Treasurers at Gouldsmithes
Hall.

the House of Commons.
8. An Order directing how the Commissioners sent
to Dublyn shall dispose of the Thirteen Thousand Pounds.

judging of scandalous Persons which are not to be admitted to the Sacrament, may meet the Committee of
the Members of the House of Commons, there being
some Occasion for their present Meeting.

Ordered, That the Committee of this House shall
meet on Thursday next, in the Afternoon, at Three of

Vote for slighting Garrisons, disbanding Forces, &c.
The Lord Willoughby reported from the Committee
the Paper of the Garrisons which are to be slighted,
wherein there are some Alterations offered to the Consideration of the House.
The said Alterations were Once read; and Ordered
to be taken into Consideration, where the House considers what Garrisons are to be kept and what not.
Sir F. Willoughby to be employed on the Service for Ireland.
The Petition of Sir Francis Willoughby, was read;
offering his Service in Ireland, in such Place as the
Houses shall please to think fit.
It is Ordered, To be referred to the Committee
for the Irish Affairs at Derby House, to take his Certificate into Consideration, and employ him in such Service in Ireland as is worthy of him, being a Person welldeserving for his Fidelity and Abilities: And the Concurrence of the House of Commons to be desired herein.
Sir E. Povey's Losses to be considered.
Upon reading the Petition of Sir Edward Povey:
It is Ordered, To be recommended to the House of
Commons, to take his Losses in Ireland into Consideration.

Upon reading the Petition of Goodyer and Deacon,
against Mrs. Thomas:
It is Ordered, That the Cause shall be heard, by
Counsel on both Sides, at this Bar, on the 18th of May
next, whereof all Parties to have Notice.

Ordered, That Rogers shall be brought to
this House To-morrow Morning.
Order for 13,000l. for the Service of Dublin.
"Ordered, by the Lords and Commons assembled
in Parliament, That Arthur Annesly Esquire, Sir Rob't
King, and Sir Robert Meredith, Commissioners appointed to receive Dublin, or any Two of them,
shall have Power to dispose and issue out Thirteen
Thousand Pounds, now at Chester, Part of the Five
and Thirty Thousand Eight Hundred Seventy-seven
Pounds, Fourteen Shillings, and Nine Pence, appointed
by Three several Ordinances of Parliament, of the
Three and Twentieth of February, and Second of
March last, to be paid out of the Receipts of Gouldsmiths Hall, for the Service of Dublin, in such Manner
as the Committee of Lords and Commons at Darby
House have by their Order directed, or shall hereafter
direct; and that Nicholas Loftus Esquire, Deputy
Treasurer at Wars for Ireland, or Mr. Walley his
Agent at Chester, do for that Purpose pay that Sum
of Thirteen Thousand Pounds to those Commissioners,
or such as they shall appoint to receive the same: It
is further Ordered, by the said Lords and Commons,
That whatsoever Part of the Thirty-five Thousand
Eight Hundred Seventy-seven Pounds, Fourteen Shillings, Nine Pence, designed for the Service of Dublin,
is further remaining, and not yet disposed of, or
applied to that Service, shall be issued by the Orders
and Directions of the Committee of Lords and Commons at Derby House; and that the said Nicholas Loftus, Deputy Treasurer at Wars for Ireland, or such
others as have the Custody thereof, shall Issue, and
pay the same accordingly."
