Moneux to be Sheriff of Bedf.

Ordered, That this House nominates and appoints Mr. Humphry Moneux, for the County of Bedford; and the Concurrence of the House of Commons to be desired herein.

E. of Ormond to be paid Monies due to him.

A Letter of the Earl of Ormond's, was read:

It is Ordered, To be sent to the Treasurers at Goldsmiths Hall, to give my Lord of Ormond Satisfaction, according to the Contents, being upon former public Agreement of both Houses; or return an Answer to this House.

Mrs. Highlord's Petition, about 1200l. due by her to Nott.

Upon reading the Petition of Mrs. Katherine Highlord, Widow; shewing, "Whereas, by Ordinance of both Houses, she is to pay Twelve Hundred Pounds, discovered to be in her Hands, as the Debt of Sir Thomas Nott; she desires to be heard, before she pays the Money."

It is Ordered, That the Petition be sent to the House of Commons, with this Sense, "That this House thinks it fit she be heard, as she desires."

Baker and Allen.

Ordered, That the Cause between Baker and Allen shall be heard on Thursday next come Sevennight; at which Time Parties on both Sides are to attend, with Counsel and Witnesses.

Petition against Money bearing Eight per Cent. Interest.

Upon reading a Petition of divers Inhabitants of the Counties of Berks, Wiltes, and Southampton, against Interest of Money after Eight Pounds per Cent.

It is Ordered, To be taken into Consideration on Friday come Sevennight.

Sir R. Darly to be continued Sheriff of York.

"Ordered, That Sir Richard Darly, High Sheriff for the County of Yorke last Year, be continued Sheriff for this Year also; and that an Ordinance be drawn up, for his Dispensation.

Congham and Shipden.

Upon hearing the Counsel between Congham and Shipden:

It is Ordered, That this House will (fn. 1) take the Business into Consideration Two or Three Days after the next Term.

Higgins to be institued to Weekewar.

Ordered, That Doctor Aylett give Institution and Induction unto Obediah Higgins Clerk, Master of Arts, to the Rectory of Weeke Warr, in Com. Gloucester, void by the Death of Toby Higgins Clerk, the late Incumbent, salvo Jure, &c. Presentation under the Hands and Seals of William Edwards and Will'm Higgins, Patrons.

Letter from the E. of Ormond, desiring Payment of Monies due to him by the State.

"For the Right Honourable the Earl of Manchester, Speaker of the House of Peers pro Tempore.

"My Lord,

"By my Letter of the First of this Month, I desired that, by your Lordship's Favour, the Most Honourable the House of Peers might be informed, that, notwithstanding the long Solicitation of my Agent, some Part of what was undertaken to me by Authority, and in the Name, of the Parliament of England, remained unperformed, as appeared by Certificate of some of those that by the said Authority had conditioned with me; and my humble Suit was, That ( (fn. 2) for Disengagement of the Honour of the Parliament) certain Bills remaining in my Hands might be speedily accepted; whereupon both Houses were pleased, on the Tenth of this Month, to order, That the Sum of Five and Twenty Hundred Pounds should be forthwith advanced and paid to me, or my Assigns, by the Committee of Revenue; and that it should be earnestly recommended unto the Committee at Gouldsmiths Hall, forthwith to pay unto me, or my Assigns, the rest of the Money due upon the said Bills; by which Order, I doubt not but that the Parliament intended my full Satisfaction; and that accordingly, in some Time, the said Monies will be paid: Yet, for that by the Agreement the Trouble and Charge of soliciting and attending on several Committees was not to lie on me; and that in Prevention thereof it was, that I chose to have Bills accepted for the Money I was to receive; my humble Request to the Parliament now is, That, according to the express Undertaking of those authorized by them, I may have the Bills signed by Mr. Warring and Mr. Herring forthwith accepted, by their sufficient Correspondent, at the Rates expressed in the said Bills; which I humbly conceive will be judged as reasonable, as it will be disagreeable to the Engagement and Honour of the Parliament that I should be longer delayed, and forced to a chargeable Attendance and Solicitation in Ways which are better known to, and more proper for, those Gentlemen whose Bills I have, and who have Relation to One of those Committees. And so I rest

Lewis to be instituted to Hillingdon.

Ordered, That Doctor Aylett give Institution and Induction unto Wm. Lewis Clerk, to the Vicarage of Hillington, alias Hillingdon, in Com. Midd. void by the Death of the last Incumbent; salvo Jure, &c.; Presentation under the Great Seal of England.
