Ld. Great Chamberlain's Precedency, when a Duke, to settle, Bill:

Hodie 3a vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act for settling the Precedency of Robert Marquis of Lindsey, Great Chamberlain of England, when created a Duke of Great Britain, and of such as shall succeed to the said Honour."

The Question was put, "Whether this Bill shall pass?"

It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

Message to H. C. with it:

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by Mr. Browning and Mr. Holford:

To carry down the said Bill, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Messages from thence, to return Trenchard's Bill; and with a Bill.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons; by the Lord William Powlet and others:

To return the Bill, intituled, "An Act to enable Trustees to grant Leases of Part of the Lands devised by the last Will and Testament of Thomas Trenchard Esquire, deceased;" and to acquaint this House, that they have agreed to the same, without any Amendment.

A Message was brought from the House of Commons, by Mr. London and others:

With a Bill, intituled, "An Act for naturalizing Herman Meyer;" to which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

Collier versus Stewart.

The House being moved, on the Behalf of Robert Stewart Merchant in Aberdeen, and others, Respondents to the Appeal of Captain William Collier Commander of His Majesty's Ship The Mermaid, "That a Day may be appointed for hearing the same:"

It is Ordered, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Monday next, at Eleven a Clock.

Butchers, Edinburgh, versus the Magistrates, &c.:

After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal of Patrick Kincaid Deacon, and Archibald Browne Boxmaster, of the Incorporated Company of Butchers, in the Borough of Edinburgh, for themselves, and in Name and Behalf of the said Corporation, from an Interlocutory Sentence, or Decree, of the Lords of Session in Scotland, made the Fifteenth of February last, on Behalf of the Magistrates, and Corporation of Candle-makers of the said Borough, of Edinburgh; praying, "That the same may be reversed:" As also upon the Answer of the said Magistrates and Corporation put in thereunto; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:

Judgement reversed.

It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the Interlocutory Sentence or Decree in the said Appeal complained of, whereby the Lords of Session found, "That the Appellants ought to be restrained from rinding of Tallow for Sale;" and also found, "That the Magistrates and Council of Edinburgh can oblige the Appellants to sell their Tallow to the Candlemakers, for making of Candles to be consumed in the Town, at a Price to be put thereupon by the Magistrates and Town Council," be, and the same is hereby, reversed.

Morison versus Nisbet et al.

Whereas To-morrow was appointed, for hearing the Cause wherein William Morison of Preston Grange Esquire is Appellant, and William Nisbet of Dirlton Esquire and others are Respondents: The House being this Day moved, with the Consent of both Parties, "That the said Hearing be put off to some further Day:"

It is Ordered, That this House will hear the said Cause, by Counsel, at the Bar, on Tuesday next, at Eleven a Clock.

Adjourn.
