L. Kerry versus Ly. Semple.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of the Right Honourable Thomas Lord Baron of Kerry and Lixnawe, and Dorothy Waller Widow and Executrix of James Waller Gentleman deceased, and John Waller Son and Heir of the said James Waller, Trustees of the said Lord Kerry, from an Order made in the High Court of Chancery in Ireland, the Sixth Day of July last, in a Cause wherein Dame Grizell Semple was Plaintiff, and the Appellant and others Defendants; praying, "That the same may be reversed:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said Lady Semple may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and is hereby required to put in her Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Saturday the Tenth Day of September next.

Ly. Bulkeley, &c. against a Clause in the Bill for continuing Laws.

Upon reading the Petition of the Right Honourable Richard Lord Viscount Bulkeley, John Robinson, Robert Owen, and several others, on Behalf of themselves, and of several other Gentleman, Freeholders, Landholders, and other Inhabitants, of the Hundreds within the County of Anglesea; praying, "That the Clause in the Bill, intituled, "An Act for continuing several Laws therein mentioned, relating to Coals, Hemp, and Flax, Irish and Scotch Linen, and the Assize of Bread; and for giving Power to adjourn the Quarter Sessions for the County of Anglesea, for the Purposes therein mentioned," which relates to the Town of Bewmares, may be lest out of the Bill; or that the Petitioners may be heard against the same, by Counsel or otherwise:"

It is Ordered, That the said Petition do lie on the Table, till the said Bill be read a Second Time.

Wilkinson & al. Fishermen, in Custody, discharged.

Richard Wilkinson and Ralph Hoskins Fishermen, in Custody of the Serjeant at Arms attending this House, for a Breach of Privilege, in fishing in the River Burnham, in Essex, belonging to the Lord Fitzwalter, who were ordered to be brought to the Bar Yesterday, in order to their Discharge, were this Day brought to the Bar; and, being reprimanded, on their Knees, by the Lord Chancellor, for their Offence, were discharged out of Custody, paying their Fees.

Report of Precedents relating to E. Oxon's Petition for Papers.

The Lord President reported from the Committee, appointed to consider of the Prayer of the Petition of Robert Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer, "That Erasmus Lewis, Jo. Taylor, Humphrey Wanley, and their Clerks, may be appointed and allowed to take Copies of all the Memorials, Letters, Treaties, or other Papers, referred by the House of Commons to the Committee of Secrecy, upon which the Report of the said Committee and the Articles of Impeachment exhibited against him are founded; and likewise all Treaties, Treasury Warrants, Reports, and other Papers, mentioned in the said Articles and the Preamble thereof; and to inspect the Journals, as to Cases of like Nature: That they had accordingly inspected the Journals of this House; and offer the several Cases following to their Lordships Consideration; (videlicet,)

"31 Maii 1621. Sir John Bennet, accused by the Commons of Bribery and Corruption.

"28 Aprilis 1624. E. Middlesex, Lord Treasurer, accused by the Commons of great, exorbitant, and heinous Offences; and 3 Maii following.

"8 Maii 1626. E. Bristol, accused of High Treason, and other Crimes, in the King's Name, by the Attorney General; and 8 Junii following.

Then some of the Proceedings of the Dates aforesaid, in every of the said Cases, being read out of the Journals; as also a Proceeding in the Case of the Lord Chancellor Bacon, of the 20th of March 1620; and likewise the forementioned Petition of the said Earl, and the Order of this House upon his Lordship's former Petition of the 3d Instant; and Consideration of the several Matters aforesaid; the following Order was made:

E. of Oxford, Order for Papers.

"Ordered, That the Earl of Oxford and Earl Mortimer have Leave to cause Copies to be taken of all Treasury Warrants, and other Papers in the Treasury Office, concerning Transactions during his having been a Commissioner of the Treasury or Lord Treasurer; and of the Journals of Parliament, and of Public Treaties, referred to in any of the Articles exhibited against him, or the Preamble thereof, and of all other Records whatsoever."

Security of His Majesty's Person, &c. Bill.

Ordered, That the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the further Security of His Majesty's Person and Government; and the Succession of the Crown in the Heirs of the late Princess Sophia, being Protestants; and for extinguishing the Hopes of the pretended Prince of Wales, and his open and secret Abettors," be read the Third Time on Monday next; and the Lords to be summoned.

Haliday versus Keltie & al.

Upon reading the Petition and Appeal of James Haliday of Tillibole Esquire, from several Interlocutory Sentences of the Lords of Council and Session in Scotland, of the 23d of June, 5th, 15th, and 20th of July last, on the Behalf of David Keltie and Catherine Simpson his Mother, Administratrix to her Husband, the said David Keltie's Father, deceased; praying, "That the same may be reversed:"

It is Ordered, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the said David Keltie and Catherine Simpson may have a Copy of the said Appeal; and shall and are hereby required to put in their Answer thereunto, in Writing, on or before Saturday the Tenth Day of September next: And, in regard the Appellant's Residence is in Scotland, it is further Ordered, That William Haliday Esquire, his Brother, may enter into a Recognizance to answer Costs, if any should be awarded, on hearing the said Appeal, instead of the said Appellant.

Causes put off.

Ordered, That the Cause wherein Denis Daly Junior Esquire and Ellin his Wife are Appellants, and Mary Lynch Widow Respondent, which is appointed to be heard on Monday next, be put off to Wednesday; and the other Causes removed in Course.
