Wright & al. versus Ramsay:
After hearing Counsel, upon the Petition and Appeal
of Robert Wright Esquire, Gilbert Spearman Esquire,
William Procter Esquire, and of Dame Jane Clavering,
Widow and Relict of Sir John Clavering Baronet, deceased, on Behalf of herself and Sir James Clavering
Baronet, Son and Heir of the said Sir John Clavering,
an Infant, from several Orders of the Court of Chancery,
and more especially from the Orders of the Twenty-sixth
of April and Thirtieth of May last, made on the Behalf of
William Ramsay Esquire; praying, "That the same may
be set aside and discharged:" As also upon the Answer of the said William Ramsay put in to the said Appeal; and due Consideration of what was offered thereupon:
Judgement affirmed.
It is Ordered and Adjudged, by the Lords Spiritual and Temporal in Parliament assembled, That the
said Petition and Appeal be, and is hereby, dismissed
this House; and that all the Orders therein complained
of be, and are hereby, affirmed.
Andrews' Pet. for further Time for Lynch to make her Election.
Upon reading the Petition of Francis Andrews
Gentleman, Agent for and on Behalf of Mary Lynch
Respondent to the Appeal of Denis Daly Junior,
Esquire, and Ellin his Wife; setting forth, "That the
said Respondent is so ill, that her Physicians despair
of her Life; and therefore not capable of making a
Declaration of her Election of taking a Third Part
of the Estate of her First Husband George French,
whereof she is dowable, or a Moiety of the Profits
thereof, according to his last Will and Testament, in
such Manner as this House were pleased to direct, on
hearing of this Cause, on the Seventeenth Day of
this instant August;" and praying, "That a further
Day may be appointed, for the said Respondent to
declare her Election as aforesaid:"
It is Ordered, That Time be allowed till To-morrow, to support the Allegations of the said Petition
by Affidavit.
Loyalty in Scotland, for encouraging, &c. Bill.

vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act
for encouraging all Superiors, Vassals, Landlords,
and Tenants, in Scotland, who do and shall continue
in their Duty and Loyalty to His Majesty King George;
and for discouraging all Superiors, Vassals, Landlords,
and Tenants there, who have been, or shall be, guilty
of rebellious Practices against His said Majesty; and
for making void all fraudulent Entails, Tailzies, and
Conveyances, made there, for barring or excluding
the Effect of Forfeitures, that may have been, or shall
be, incurred there on any such Account; as also for
calling any suspected Person or Persons, whose Estate
or principal Residence are in Scotland, to appear at
Edinburgh, or where it shall be judged expedient, to
find Bail for their good Behaviour."
Ordered, That the said Bill be committed to a
Committee of the whole House, To-morrow.
River Kennet, Bill.
The House (according to Order) was adjourned
during Pleasure, and put into a Committee upon the
Bill, intituled, "An Act for making the River Kennet
navigable, from Newbury to Reading, in the County
of Berks."
And, after some Time spent therein, the House was
resumed.
And the Earl of Clarendon reported from the Committee, "That they had made some Progress in the
Matter to them referred; and directed him to move,
that they may have Leave to sit again."
Ordered, That this House shall be put into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the
said Bill, To-morrow Morning.
Liverpool Church, Bill.

vice lecta est Billa, intituled, "An Act
for building and endowing a Church upon the Scite
of the Castle of Liverpoole, held by Lease from the
Dutchy of Lancaster; and for explaining a former
Act for the building another Church there."
Then a Clause, by Way of Rider, was proposed to
be added at the End of the Bill.
And the same, being Thrice read, was, with an
Amendment, agreed by the House to be made Part of
the said Bill.
And the Question being put, "Whether this Bill,
with the Amendments, shall pass?"
It was Resolved in the Affirmative.

A Message was sent to the House of Commons, by
Mr. Meller and Mr. Dormer:
To carry down the said Bill; and acquaint them,
that the Lords have agreed to the same, with some
Amendments, whereunto they desire their Concurrence.

The Earl of Clarendon reported from the Committee,
to whom the Bill, intituled, "An Act for the Relief
of Anne Milner, Thomas Colemore, William Hunt, William Parrot, and others, as to Customs of Goods
burnt or destroyed by the late Fire in Thames Street,
London," was committed: "That they had considered thereof, gone through the same, and directed him
to report the Bill to the House, without any Amendment."
