Security from Persons pardoned for Felony.
A BILL to repeal the Statute of 10° Edward III.
whereby the Judges are obliged to take Security
from Persons pardoned for Felony, was read the Second
time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Dolben,
Sir Cha. Raleigh, Mr. Smith, Mr. Price, Mr. Clark,
Mr. Langton, Major Vincent, Sir John Key, Mr. Bowyer,
Sir Edward Hussey, Mr. Christy, Mr. Freke, Sir John
Dorrell, Mr. Cook, Mr. Hutchinson, Mr. Colt, Mr. Henly,
Mr. Speke, Mr. Fenwick, Mr. Blofeild, Mr. Palmes, Mr.
Balch, Mr. Waller, Mr. White, Mr. Lutterell, Mr. Gee,
Colonel Titus, Mr. Foley, Mr. Bromley, Mr. Wilmot,
Colonel Perry, Mr. England: And they are to meet
this Afternoon at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's

Ordered, That the Bill for the Naturalization of all
such Protestants as shall take the Oaths to their Majesties,
and the Test against Popery, be read a Second time
upon Tuesday Morning next, after Eleven a Clock.
New East-India Company.
Resolved, That this House will, upon Wesnesday
Morning next, at Ten a Clock, resolve itself into a
Committee of the whole House, to consider of the Petition of several Merchants, and others, in and about the
City of London, relating to the East-India Trade, and
for erecting of a new East-India Company.
Ordered, That the East-India Company do lay before
this House their old Charter.
Merchants Insurers Creditors.
A Bill to enable divers Merchants-Insurers, that have
sustained many Losses by the present War with France,
the better to satisfy their several Creditors, was read the
First time.
Resolved, That the Bill be read a Second time.
Insolvent Debtors.
A Bill for explaining a former Act for Relief of poor
Prisoners, was read the Second time.
Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Bowyer,
Mr. Bockenham, Mr. Waller, Mr. Colson, Mr. Arnold,
Mr. Cook, Mr. Hungerford, Mr. Gilbert, Mr. Foley, Mr.
Thornhaugh, Sir Tho. Vernon, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Biddulph, Sir Fr. Molyneux, Mr. Piggot, Mr. Pollen, Sir
Tho. Dyke, Mr. Blofeild, Colonel Perry, Mr. Chadwick,

New East-India Company.
A Petition of several Linen-Drapers, and other Traders
in East-India Goods, was read; setting forth, That, by
the ill Conduct of the late East-India Company, the
Trade thither is much impaired, and in Danger to be
utterly lost to this Kingdom: That, by the excessive
Dearness and Scarcity of Callicoes, &c. this Nation has
been supplied therewith, by Stealth, from Holland, to the
lessening of their Majesties Customs, and to the great
Damage of the Petitioners Trade: Which, they conceive,
would be prevented, if a new East-India Company were
established, or their Majesties Subjects equally permitted
to trade to the East-Indies: And praying the Consideration of the House, and Relief in the Premises.
Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be
referred to the Committee of the whole House, to whom
the Petition of several Merchants, and others, in and
about the City of London, relating to the East-India
Trade, and for erecting a new East-India Company, is
referred.
Supply.
The House, according to the Order of the Day,
resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to
consider further of the Supply to be granted to their
Majesties, for Maintenance of the Land-Forces.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.
Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee,
That they had made a further Progress in the Matter to
them referred; and had directed him to move the House,
that they may have Leave to sit again.
Resolved, That this House will, upon Saturday Morning
next, at Eleven a Clock, resolve itself into a Committee
of the whole House, to consider further of the Supply
to be granted to their Majesties, for Maintenance of the
Land-Forces.
