Leckby Manor.

AN ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for the vesting the Third Part of the Manor of Leckby, alias Letby, and other Lands, in the County of York, in Trustees, to be sold; and for settling a Farm, and other Lands, in Terling and Much-Leighs, in the County of Essex, of greater Value, to and upon the same Uses; was read the Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed to Mr. Waller, Mr. Hungerford, Mr. Christy, Sir Wm. York, Mr. Proby, Mr. Cooke, Mr. Hawtry, Sir Wm. Drake, Sir Fra. Guibon, Mr. Henly, Mr. Frewen, Mr. Hutchinson, Mr. Bowyer, Mr. England, Mr. White, Sir Steph. Evans, Sir Robert Edon, Mr. Freeman, Mr. Burdet, Mr. Dryden, Mr. Fuller, Sir John Moreton, Mr. Arnold, Mr. Shackerly, Mr. Bockenham, Mr. Travers, Sir John Fagg, Mr. Thornhaugh, Sir John Bolls, Mr. Speke, Mr. Lutterell, Sir Wm. Cooke, Colonel Titus, Mr. Palmes; and all the Members of the House that serve for the Counties of York and Essex: And they are to meet this Afternoon at Four of the Clock, in the Speaker's Chamber.

Maynard's Estate.

A Petition of Eliz. Maynard, Widow, was presented to the House, and read; setting forth, That there being a Bill now depending in this House for settling the Estate of Sir John Maynard, Knight, deceased, late one of the Lords Commissioners for the Custody of the Great Seal of England; and the Petitioner having several Demands on the said Estate; she opposed the passing of the said Bill in the House of Lords, until the Lord Stamford and Sir Hen Hobart, who married Two of the Grand-daughters of Sir John Maynard, proposed an Annuity of 350 l. for the Petitioner's Life, free of all Taxes; and agreed to execute a Writing for that Purpose: That a Writing hath been accordingly prepared; and the said Earl and Sir Henry attended therein; but they delay the Execution thereof: And praying, That the said Bill may not pass until the said Conveyance shall be executed.

Ordered, That the Consideration of the said Petition be referred to the Committee, to whom the said Bill is committed.

Mildmay's Estate.

The House proceeded to take into Consideration the Amendments, made by the Lords, to the Bill, intituled, An Act to vest the Estate of Mary, Eliz. Jane, Arabella, Lucy, and Ann Mildmay, in Trustees, to be sold for Satisfaction of Mortgages and Debts thereupon: and preserving the Overplus for their Benefit.

And the same were twice read; and agreed unto by the House: and are as follow; viz.

Leather-cutting.

The House took into Consideration the Report from the Committee, to whom the Bill for making more effectual a Statute made in the First Year of King James the First, concerning Tanners, Curriers, Shoemakers, and others occupying the Cutting of Leather, was committed:

And the Amendments made to the Bill by the said Committee were once read throughout; and then a Second time, one by one; and, upon the Question severally put thereupon, agreed unto by the House.

And the Question being put, That the Bill, with the Amendments, be ingrossed;

Insolvent Debtors.

The Lords have agreed to the Amendments, made by this House, to the Amendments made by the Lords to the Bill, intituled, An Act for the Explaining, and for the more effectual Execution, of a former Act for Relief of poor Prisoners: And also,

Stevens's Estate.

To the Bill, intituled, An Act for Sale of the Estate of William Stevens, deceased, for the Payment of the Mortgage thereupon; and applying the Overplus for the Benefit of his Sons, who are Instants; with some Amendments: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Vexations Suits.

An ingrossed Bill for preventing frivolous and vexatious Suits was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass: And that the Title be, An Act for preventing frivolous and vexatious Suits.

Ordered, That Mr. Waller do carry the Bill to the Lords, and desire their Concurrence thereunto.

Ways and Means.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supplies to be granted to their Majesties, for the Maintenance of the Fleet, and Land-Forces, for the Service of the Year 1694.

Mr. Speaker left the Chair.

Sir Tho. Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.

Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Tho. Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had come to several Resolutions; which they had directed him to report, when the House would please to receive the same.

Ordered, That the said Report be made To-morrow Morning at Eleven a Clock.

Sir Thomas Littleton also acquainted the House, That he was directed by the Committee to move, That they might have Leave to sit again.

Resolved, That this House will, To-morrow Morning, after the said Report from the Committee of the whole House, resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supplies to be granted to their Majesties, for the Maintenance of the Fleet, and Land-Forces, for the Service of the Year One thousand Six hundred Ninetyfour.
