RESOLVED, That a Committee be appointed to consider of the Act, passed the last Session, for laying several Duties upon the Tonage of Ships, as it relates to the Isle of Wight, and Town and County of Southampton, and the Town of Portsmouth, and to all the CoastingTrade; and of the Doubts and Complaints relating thereunto; and to report the Matter thereof to the House.

The Lords have passed a Bill, intituled, An Act to vest certain Lands and Tenements, late of John Estost, of Etton in the County of York Esquire, in Trustees to be sold for Payment of the Debts of the said John Estoft, and raising Portions for his Daughters: To which they desire the Concurrence of this House.

And then the Messengers withdrew.

Hackney Coach Commissioners.

Ordered, That the Committee to whom the Examination and Consideration of the Petition of Thomas Kemp, and others, of the ancient 400 licensed Hackney Coachmen was referred, have Leave to sit To-morrow Morning, before the Sitting of the House.

Leave of Absence.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Tayler have Leave to go into the Country for Four Days only, upon extraordinary Occasions.

An ingrossed, Bill from the Lords, intituled, An Act to enable Trustees to grant Leases of the Lands of Henry Northleigh Esquire, lately deceased, for Payment of his Debts, and providing a Maintenance for his Children, was read a Second time.

Resolved, That the Bill be committed, to Colonel Rolls, Sir Richard Hart, Mr. Hunt, Mr. How, Mr. Burrard, Sir Wm. Cook, Sir Fra. Privilege—a person reprimanded and discharged.

Jacob Broad was, according to Order, brought to the Bar: Where, upon his Knees, he received a Reprimand from Mr. Speaker.

Resolved and Declared, That all written Protections, given by any Members of this House, are void, and against the standing Order of the House.

Complaint on Breach of Privilege.

Resolved, That no Persons shall be taken into Custody upon Complaint of any Breach of Privilege of this House, before the Matter be first examined.

Resolved and Declared, That the said Order is not to extend to any Breach of Privilege upon the Person of any Member of this House.

Privilege in relation to Suits at Law.

Ways and Means.

The House, according to the Order of the Day, resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to his Majesty, for carrying on the War against France with Vigour.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had made a further Progress in the Matter to them referred; and had directed him to move, That they may have Leave to sit again.
