Prayers.

Finch's Estate.

MR. Waller reported from the Committee, to whom the ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act to vest certain Lands and Tenements in Trustees, to be sold, for the better Provision of the Daughters and Coheirs of Joseph Finch Esquire, deceased, was committed, That they had examined and considered the same; and had directed him to report the same to the House, without any Amendments: And he delivered the same in at the Clerk's Table.

Pit's Deed of Trust, &c.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act for supplying certain Defects in the Directions made in and by a Deed of Trust, and the last Will of George Pit Esquire, deceased, for settling his Estate, was read the Third time.

Resolved, That the Bill do pass.

Ordered, That Sir Thomas Mompesson do carry the Bill to the Lords, and acquaint them, That this House hath agreed to the same, without any Amendments.

Encouraging Seamen.

Ordered, That Leave be given to bring in a Bill for the Encouragement and Increase of Seamen: And that Sir Richard Onslow do prepare, and bring in, the same.

Certain Persons to take Oaths.

An ingrossed Bill, from the Lords, intituled, An Act requiring certain Persons to take the Oaths to his Majesty, was read the First time.

And the Question being put, That the Bill be read a Second time;

The House divided.

The Yeas go forth.

So it was resolved in the Affirmative.

Steps takes for apprehending a Person.

The Serjeant at Arms' Messenger was called in; and gave an Account of what he had done, in pursuance of the Order of the House, for taking into Custody Mr. Standish, of Standish in the County of Lancaster.

And then withdrew.

Regulating Printing and Printing Presses.

Ordered, That the Bill for the better regulating of Printing, and Printing-Presses, be read a Second time upon Thursday Morning next.

Commissioners of Accounts.

Ordered, That the Bill for taking and stating the publick Accounts for the Year One thousand Six hundred Ninety-five be read a Second time To-morrow Morning.

West Thorock Innundation.

Ordered, That the Report from the Committee, to whom the Matter of the Petition of the Poor of Cobham College, and the Proprietors of Lands, now under Water, in West-Thorock, in the County of Essex, was re-committed, be taken into Consideration upon Wednesday Morning next.

Tonage Duties.

Resolved, That this House will, upon Friday Morning next, take into Consideration the Motion made, upon Wednesday last, from the Committee of the whole House, to whom it was referred to consider of the Report from the Committee appointed to consider of the Act, passed the last Session, for laying several Duties upon the Tonage of Ships, as it relates to the Isle of Wight, and Town and County of Southampton, and the Town of Portsmouth, and to all the Coasting-Trade; and of the Doubts and Complaints relating thereunto: And that afterwards this House will resolve itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of the said Report.

Ways and Means.

The House, according to the Order of the Day resolved itself into a Committee of the whole House, to consider further of Ways and Means for raising the Supply to be granted to his Majesty, for the carrying on the War against France with Vigour.

Sir Thomas Littleton took the Chair of the Committee.
Mr. Speaker resumed the Chair.

Sir Thomas Littleton reported from the said Committee, That they had agreed upon several Resolutions; which they had directed him to report to the House, when the House would please to receive the same.

Ordered, That the Report be made To-morrow Morning.

And then the House adjourned till To-morrow Morning, Nine a Clock.
